Recently I noticed that the Dafabet website does not mention the Philippines as a place where it is licensed. However, on the Wizard of Odds website and on many other places on the internet, Dafabet is mentioned as being licensed in the Philippines. To confirm the status, I sent an email to PAGCOR (the casino regulator in the Philippines). After a few days of wait, I got their reply that Dafabet is not licensed by them.
Dafabet website in India claims that they operate as per the casino regulations of Curacao. However, they are not clearly saying that they are licensed from Curacao. I have sent an email to the Curacao Gaming Control Board to know the truth but unfortunately, they have not replied yet.
It would be nice to know if Dafabet is licensed from anywhere at all or it is an unlicensed casino at present.

Hi gamblr911,
Though in their terms they say they are regulated in various jurisdictions, including The Philippines, we can only confirm that they are licensed by the Government of Curacao.

Thanks for the info. Now I see that there is a small Antillephone logo in the footer of the Dafabet website. When clicked, it leads to the above validation page. Antillephone is one of the master license holders ( a private company) that has the delegated authority to issue sub-licenses to online casinos.
Further, I reproduce here the email I got from PAGCOR (Philippines):
PAGCOR Email ID: pagcorph@gmail(dot)com
Message:
Dear ####,
Good Day.
Thank you for sending your message through PAGCOR's official email address. We received your message with the subject Dafabet License Information.
We would like to advise you that Dafabet is not licensed under the Philippine Amusement Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). Please refer all your concerns regarding Dafabet to their customer service portal.
Thank you.

I just wish to point out that this was posted today by a former WOV administrator, MIssion146, on a thread about a different online casino that a member is complaining about for not returning his funds.
Quote: MIssion146It's also licensed by Curacao which...that's pretty much about as good as it being licensed by me.

Antillephone does not have its own website. You can't know who they really are. On their license validation page, there is just an email id for complaints. But they do not accept complaints about non-payment of winnings by a casino licensed by them. For that, the complainant needs to approach the casino or an independent body. Antillephone only accepts complaints about a breach of license terms by a casino but they do not say where to send that complaint.
This is disturbing. After I read these things, I start to get the feeling that a casino licensed in Curacao is as good as not licensed at all.

Yeah, some Curacao-licensed casinos are certainly fine, but there's really nothing in place with a Curacao license that has any real meaning as far as fair games and payment are concerned, just in my opinion.

Even the UKGB isn't that great in that it doesn't care all that much what happens to players. I don't expect even those U.S. states that have authorized and regulated online gambling to be any better...the main thing that I would base my decision on (aside from how profitable the bonus is expected to be) is just reputation, ratings and user comments.
