Quote: tjsharp101How am I supposed to get ANY coffee right now? All the damn coffee shops are closed!

When you get suspended, there's the WOV Jail they put you in, and they serve coffee in there. In the morning, it's coffee, scrambled eggs, hash browns. For lunch, it's a ham sandwich and an orange. No dinner. I've got a feeling it's going to be more than three days this time. You can catch up on your sleep, not much to do in there. Do you play dominoes?
Actually, BBB has been rigorously maintaining isolation and providing demanding senior care, so keep your spirits up during social isolation and enjoy the friendly banter but don't lose sight of the efforts actually being made by forum members.Quote: bobbartopThat explains it, she's been partying on the beach all night. What virus?
I'm still in the hospital and eating swill while staring contentedly at four blank walls and dreaming fondly of Salvation Army gruel.
Two of my closest friends have tested positive for the virus while on a retirement cruise and are having a rough time of it.
"Senior Box" food distribution at the county poorhouse has been relocated and will involve vehicular pickup of the boxes by recipients with no one permitted to leave the vehicle or have physical contact with the masked and gloved distributors.
Meanwhile MOW volunteers are picking up the slack but avoiding physical contact.

I hear you. Not really a good time for joking. The situation could not be more serious. I apologize.
Quote: tjsharp101Well @billryan, my “true nature” as you so eloquently put it is that I’m a seasoned professional who is quite obviously well above your pay grade. All I was trying to do is to provide vital information for any blackjack player that would consider playing at Rampart Casino. I wanted it put on the wizardofvegas Blackjack Survey table so that any level of blackjack player would be aware of a very serious issue at that casino (that’s my “true nature” @billryan ; I was trying to help, you moron!). I thought that the information I provided would be very much appreciated by fellow blackjack players. But what I got instead was a bunch of giddy little children (like @darkoz , for example) with no appreciation whatsoever of the value of information that I was offering.
And what about you, @beachbumbabs ? Are you so focused on just the words that I used that you can’t see the context in which I used them? Then you go and suspend me for three days, giving me no opportunity to defend what I said or how and why I said it. I wasn’t even able to private message you; which proves to me that you’re nothing more than a coward (and disguised in righteous moral compass clothing, no less!).
Speaking of your righteous moral compass @beachbumbabs , you said in your suspension post to me that “the board is PG”. I assume that means that you permit minors to be members of your site, which is specifically related to gambling. That means you’re breaking the law! I think that’s just a teensy little bit more serious than my choice of words, wouldn’t you say? So want me to drop a few more f-bombs? Here goes: fuck! fuck! fuck! fuck! Go ahead, suspend me! Because I can guarantee you what my next manoeuvre will be is to report your little “PG” board to the authorities. I’m sure that the local police’s vice squad of wherever it is you operate out of would be very interested in your little online PG gaming board that permits minors to be members.
CHECKMATE, @beachbumbabs !!
TJS
Checkmate? You're a professional game-player who stands under his own grenade? Nice launch there, Wile E Coyote. Boom.
I didn't write the rules. I do my best to enforce them. PG is a reference point for profanity here, not an invitation to children, but nice spin and pivot. You had to agree to the rules before you got the account: instead, you violated them from the start.
Leaving this thread up because it amuses me, and I appreciate the member support. I've been up several nights running, with a puking, crapping, dying dog and a completely addled and sick mom, so haven't been at my usual constant vigilance post. Sorry, forum.
tjsharp101 is nuked for multiple insults, profanity, and general second-rate rudeness. Try harder next troll-job, guy. Some gold-medal kiss-offs in the archives if you'd done your homework before taking your lame shots.
This isn't really a gambling site but a gambling discussion site.
If an underage person came on here I think we would be best to welcome them and make certain they understand the risks of gambling, both monetarily and psychologically (addiction, family issues sometimes etc) and not tell them to go away and come back in a few years.
Children are walked through the casinos of Nevada and Atlantic City all the time. Even the physical exposure to gambling isn't illegal. Just they can't do it
(For comparison, there is no "walk through" section in a porn shop. 100% no exposure to minors)

I'm so sorry to learn this. I know you must be hurting. I'll be thinking about you. I will.
Quote: darkozNot only that, but I am pretty certain there is no law against under age people discussing gambling. There are only laws against actual gambling

No different than a kid watching or listening to VSIN.

Unless its recently changed, children aren't allowed on casino floors. The paths from hotel entrances to elevators are a different pattern than the casino floors and minors are only allowed on the " PG" carpets.

Those patterns pass through the gaming areas at most casinos
At any rate children are neither blind nor stupid. The one thing they definitely understand are giant shiny games with loud beeping noises
Any child taken to Vegas or ac is coming into contact with gambling culture
And it's even in cartoons. Bugs Bunny eyes rolling slot machine like until they land on carrots. Lots of examples of children inculcated into a gambling mentality at an early age throug media, etc

Very true, and they must be escorted by an adult and are not allowed to linger around the machines or tables.

Absolutely
But they are not blindfolded. They see the games. And they understand they are games
And children question most everything they see
