1. What is your favorite casino game?
2. What is the best casino game to play?
3. When did you start gambling?
4. What does math have to do with gambling?
So, please challenge me. I'm not afraid of tough questions. I would prefer you PM your questions and you'll get proper credit in the interview if we use it.
The question for the poll is which of these statements apply to you? (multiple votes allowed)
p.s. I meant "I still don't understand the song Purple Rain."
Quote: GWAEShould have added a hey Jude answer to the voting.
I wonder if she is still single.
Quote: WizardofnothingSent you a bunch, hope I read that correctly that you did not want them posted and wanted them sent as a pm
Thanks! Loved the last one -- but won't use it.
Quote: blackjackSwitchWhat do you think about Blackjack Switch?
I hate pushing on a dealer 22. What a gyp!

He wants this chick, but there's all this purple rain everywhere. At least I think that's what it's about.
I also think you've had some pretty interesting, unique experiences and invitations; the Playboy Mansion, the secret Blackjack Ball, the Royal Automotive Club, your time as co-host w/Bob Dancer, others you've mentioned. I think a few short anecdotes about those in response to a question about where your position has led you would be amusing.
Otherwise, I'm trying to remember just happening on the site and what I wanted to know about you on first meeting. Seems a long time ago.
1. How did you go from the government (SSA) to gaming?
2. How did you grow into, or become, the go-to guru of gaming? Many in this industry have tried and failed.
3. Any regrets, if you could do a life-mulligan, would you still have done it?
You said you would never reveal what really went on when you left the Venetian. Will that secret really die with you?
If you had a time machine, would you go back and not accept the job? Or maybe do things differently?
What was your biggest odds bet ever to come through? And the biggest single win? And the biggest single loss?
What all-time Vegas casino manager would you want to spend a day with? (e.g.: Wynn, Sarno, Rosenthal, etc) And why?
slight derail, I know. 'Tis a song I've burst into a couple times at the tables, the happy version...Quote: MoscaQuote: Wizard

Not the song I sing the most though, that's a sad one....
People keep asking those questions because we are genuinely curious about you, those are the most obvious questions to ask. After all, the way #1 and #2 (and even #4) are phrased makes them more of a personal interest than a math interest.Quote: WizardQuestions I do get asked all the time, that I'm sick of answering are:
1. What is your favorite casino game?
2. What is the best casino game to play?
3. When did you start gambling?
4. What does math have to do with gambling?
That being the case, are you going to answer them in the interview?
Are our questions supposed to be about you? Or about gambling / casinos / math / etc?
Quote: IbeatyouracesHow do you feel about your critics and your response to them? Like the people that rag on you in other places of the.
Not asked of me, but as to the other rag sites. Maybe as third parties, it's somehow entertaining to keep up with the rags for some folks here. But I don't read it, and I'm guessing the Wizard doesn't have time for it either. To me, when someone directed me to those forums, it's a cross between sick obsession and throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks (and burns). Easy and cheap shots are abundant towards anybody on the internet, so why go looking for it?
While I'm on the subject, the last time I checked a link someone posted from here, it led to some nastiness from the usual suspects, but also more than one person from here challenging the garbage about me, this forum, and the Wizard. I wanted to acknowledge those folks who stood on our behalf there for their kindness and effort to correct the record for any third parties stumbling into the manure heap. Thank you very much.
Back to the Wizard; I hope he won't bother to acknowledge his detractors from rag forums. He responds thoughtfully and humbly to legitimate criticism and disagreement. He is widely respected among gaming professionals and savvy bettors. He solicits corrections and advice, and gives full credit to the work of others in support of providing the best quality information possible, placing that above his own personal interest at times. To me, that's the mark of a true professional and demonstrates his integrity.
2. What has been your biggest failure? (Failure, not disappointment. Cyprus doesn't count, that wasn't a fail)
3. What's the biggest goal you've set for your 50's?
4. What did you want to be when you grew up?
5. What DO you want to be when you grow up?
6. What was in MKL's fire inducing resignation PM?
=p
What's the worst bet you made?
Why do kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?
Who shot Kennedy?
What's the best bet you made that you regret?
If your kids want to be pro gamblers what would you say?
Why is water wet?
Why did Judas sell out Jesus for 30 pieces of sliver?
What sport would you never get caught dead watching?
Your predictions on Vegas and gambling in the next 10 years?
Why are the Seahawks so awesome?
Do you have any voodoo system beliefs for anything besides gambling?
Quote: djatcWhat sport would you never get caught dead watching?
20 years ago, I would've said women's golf. Not today though :-)
Quote: beachbumbabsI also think you've had some pretty interesting, unique experiences and invitations; the Playboy Mansion, ....
Thanks but unfortunately I've never been invited to the Playboy Mansion, despite having been quoted in Playboy a few times and being interviewed on Playboy radio.
Probably just as well, I wouldn't have had the courage to talk to anybody.
What was one of the biggest AP advantages you've ever had in and out of a casino (i.e. casino promotion and out being like bet with a friend)?
Will you bet on absolutely anything you feel you have a mathematical advantage on?
What's one AP play that you read or heard about from the past that you wish you could have gotten in on?

Was that a question for me, or for the Wizard... =DQuote: djatcQue?
My apologies for blinding you with my white shirt. I also wish to add that I look terrible from that angle, with my crows feet and enormous beak. If we do any more, we'll use two cameras and shoot it indoors. You may want to remove any mirrors from the room when you watch this, lest they break. Hopefully, everybody will be looking at Angela and nobody will care.
Part two coming in a few hours.
That pink umbrella (?) looks phallic, or a Reaper floating?Quote: Wizard
P.S. Was the second thing I noticed.
You know the math , you know about negative expectations, so why do you gamble? What pleasure do you get out of it?

I have not watched the video,
I'm just staring at the opening scene, and I swear I did not notice Mike has an eagle's beak. Truly.
<edit> Did they know better than to send an interviewer with smaller mammary capacity, or were they trying to throw him off balance with the other? I will watch the interview, maybe tomorrow. I don't know where my focus will be ;-)
Secondly I hope this doesn't come across wrong but she is sitting way to close to you it seems almost awkward.... And although she seems very sweet and nice, her segways into the next topic and her replies are really uncomfortable to listen to
Very informative though- overall a b+
Quote: WizardofnothingCouple of comments- For the next video you should do a wizard of odds cribs

Cribs! I like that idea.
I don't think Angela is sitting too close to him or that anything is wrong with her interviewing style, it certainly comes off as informal, but she's been in so many of Wizard's videos that I think the informality is natural.
I would have liked to have heard more about the Venetian, in fact, there was even more than that about it posted by the Wizard for...maybe six hours. Wizard posted some detailed information about it and later took it down, so obviously, I'm not going to speak to anything he said in that (deleted) post, but I remember most of it. Wizard is definitely right, it did not end well.

We had to rush those interviews because Angela had a flight to catch. This is something we'll probably do again, so don't forget those Venetian questions. I am prepared to talk more about it, but I can't reveal anything that might be a company secret.
I also stared at your eyes the majority of the time waiting for the inevitable. You're a stronger man than I. Well done.
You didn't see that tense quiver in his mouth? Serpent's tongue is when you pop it in and out at the side. Serpent's lip, maybe.Quote: RomesI also stared at your eyes the majority of the time waiting for the inevitable. You're a stronger man than I. Well done.
I don't know the reason you guys keep encouraging him to do these things.

I told you someone else noticed he was 'flawed'.
I have yet to watch part 2, I'm saving it like desert after dinner....
Quote: RomesEnjoyed both the interviews. I think they were done just fine. Mike, you're overreacting a bit to the white shirt/etc =P. I clicked the link expecting to see something horrific and I think it turned out fine!

Wait you stared at his eyes? Mike was in that video? People were talking? I only saw Angela standing there for 26 minutes between the two videos. Jokes aside Mike that was really well done and I enjoyed learning a little about you.

C'mon WoN...with this type of feedback we will end up with Rachel Maddow doing the next Wiz interview...meh!
I thought Angela was excellent considering she is not a career reporter type. Being in front of a camera doing filmed interview work and looking professionally polished while doing it is a skill that only comes with practice and lots of experience. And that skill set typically doesn't come in as pleasant a package...Angela is the perfect choice for future videos and I am looking forward to her "learning Pai Gow tiles" with Wiz soon.

I should go now, actuararily speaking, later ;-)

Quote: WizardHere is part 2.
Wiz, was there a bug or something on her blouse that did not show up on camera??
On a simi-more-serious note, well done. Not that much that we will pick up after years here, but for the target audience it looks nice and inviting. More inviting than if it was done higher budget if that makes sense.
Quote: WizardYour wait is over. We broke this into two interviews -- one for general gambling questions and the other for more personal questions. Here is the first one on general gambling questions.
