I normally play blackjack at my local casino in Lusaka,Zambia. They have recently changed the odds on their Caribbean Stud Poker and i think there must be an error in their calculation as the odds now given seem to be to much in favour of the player. The odds are as follows; Royal 250-1, Straight Flush 100-1, Four of a Kind 33-1, Full House 12-1, Flush 9-1, Straight
7-1, Three of a Kind 3-1, Two Pair 2-1 and even money on any pair. My questions are, with these odds does the casino still have an edge and if so what would it be?, and should i quit Blackjack and start to play on the Caribbean tables

See Wizard of Odds' Caribbean Stud page. By cutting and pasting his "U.S. Rules Return Table" onto an Excel sheet and putting in your pay table, I get a return of -1.72%. So it seems to me that the house still has an advantage, albeit a much smaller one.

Whaaaaaaaaaat?!? Dude, get out of the casino and help your country fight AIDS, or something :P

Seriously, would love to hear what gambling is like over there.

the standard odds even, 2,3,4,5,7,20,50,100....so the payouts seem to be on the generous side

Cut the "U.S. Rules Return Table" from the Wizard of Odds Caribbean Stud page and paste it onto an Excel sheet. Make sure cell A1 is "U.S. Rules Return Table."

The formulas in the "Return" column should multiply "Units Won" by "Combinations" and divide by the total number of combinations (1.993E+13). So, the formula in cell F3 would be =C3*D3/$D$16 [Fill the Return column with this formula down to "Dealer wins" by dragging cell F3 while holding its fill handle (the black dot at the lower right of cell F3.)]

For cell F16, put in this formula =SUM(F3:F15) Check if these formulas work for the Wizard's pay table. The return should say -0.052243058. After you get the sheet to work for the original pay table, then change the data in "Units Won" to correspond with your pay table. (You'll put in 501, 201, 67, 25, 19, 15, 7, 5, and 3 in Units Won.)
