Belterra Park is offering up to $500 in rewards reimbursement for losses incurred on Sep 26, 27 and 28.
I have never been able to use an offer like this, and would like some advice on how to tackle it. My wife and I are current Rewards members, and we are both eligible for this. How do these promos usually work? What's the best course of action? How would I use the Rewards reimbursement afterwards?
I realize I need to dig a little and find out some more details from the casino itself, which I will do. I wanted to get some quick advice beforehand, and also advertise the offer to the members here. Thanks!

It depends on what you want from the offer. Also, when do you receive the rebate? Is it in multiple installments over a few months or the same day?
Generally people are going to say play a game with VERY high variance and hope to hit it big. If you don't hit it big then grind out the $500 free play that you get back on a low variance game to get most of it back.

ETA: I see that you get the rebate in 2 coupons. That is not bad as long as you are local.
The deal says you will get 2 coupons, each for 50% of your net loss, valid for 2 different 2 week periods. To me, that seems quite generous, because the loss rebate I'm most familiar with (different casino), they split into 3 deals, each only valid on one particular day. So you have a much better chance of scheduling your return to use them at a convenient time. Hope it's somewhat local to you, so it's just a matter of driving over there, not having to make a huge trip out of it, which you would have to consider as a serious expense against the value of returning for loss redemption.
I don't know what a Bonus Coupon is, or what it's good for; might be restricted to certain games, or just slots, or something. Might be freeplay you cycle through once and take any amount won after the whole value is played: might be play-til-you-lose chips you get in exchange for the mailed coupon. Guess that's a question to call and ask the player's club, because each casino will have their own system of redemption. But I don't think it would be like an online bonus thing where you had to cycle the play 30x times or something to cash any winnings.
Most places, freeplay redemption doesn't get you further rewards credits, but with 2 week periods to work with, you might schedule any return for a multiplier points day, and further your edge a little in combining the trip.
When I asked what "Bonus Rewards" are, they said they are basically like a gift certificate you can insert into the machine to play through. No cashing it out immediately.
The two return periods are:
October 7 - 19
October 20 - November 2
I am going to call up the Belterra Casino (NOT Belterra Park) to see if the "Bonus Rewards" are usable there. It would be nice to take the rebate and use it where I normally play.
I don't know anything about what slots are available there, save for what they mention on the Games page:
Walking Dead
Buffalo Stampede
Dragon's Law
Reels of Wheels
Phoenix Wave
Willy Wonka
Selexion (multi-game slots, includes China Shores and African Diamond)
I do enjoy playing slots, but am wary of how much money I could stand to lose. I also have no idea how comps are awarded at Belterra Park, or if they would roll over to Belterra Casino.
And even though it's all slots, it still could be a profitable play. Definitely not as much as VP though. I did this $500 loss reimbursement as a new member at River City in St. Louis in early 2012. I cycled enough coin (but only about $2500) while losing $350 that I was able to collect almost $200 in extra food comps and maybe $100 in free play ON TOP of the loss rebate. I had to go back several times to collect all the extras...but I was willing to do it at the time. If I knew I was going to get all that ahead of time...I would have really pushed my g/f to lose more that day too. She didn't cycle enough to get anything extra beyond the loss rebate.
Quote: tringlomaneI would assume you would have to use the reimbursement at Belterra Park, if not, it would be a lot better as Belterra has decent VP if VPFree2 is up to date. But the "mycash" you would accrue while trying could be used at any Pinnacle owned property. It's too bad that they don't offer VP though, I don't think there is a regulation against it at a Ohio racino.

This is real some real value can come into play unless they have done something in their computer to limit comps on these 3 days. If you play something like $0.75 a spin on a slot machine you might be able to cycle through $4000 in a night which would probably earn you decent food and free play mailers. If you take a shot at $100 machine and only get 5 pulls then your mailers will definitely be less to non existent.

me personally, I would play a $1 machine for $3 a spin and hope to hit a nice win or $300 or more. Worst case you get the rebates and you grind out a quarter machine. I would expect to lose $100 worst case. Obviously it could be much worse or you could turn your rebate into profit as well. You just have to have discipline to walk in with your $250 voucher and as soon as you cycle $250 through, walk out the door. Bad thing about this, it will hurt your ADT that you built up on the first trip.

Yeah, since it's a "special event" then they might lower the "bounceback" for that weekend. Something to definitely consider, but unfortunately I think it will be impossible to know. In my case, doing that wasn't really possible since it was an ongoing promo for "new members".
It may be tough to convince my wife to possibly lose $1000 in the hopes of getting back an unknown percentage of it later. Even if it's just a few hundred, not the full $500 each, it may be worth a go. I like the idea of the playing dollar slots, which I don't usually play.
I suppose they track wins and losses through the player card, so they know what my 'balance' of play is, yes?
But it isn't.
Quote: DweenI can't imagine that I would visit Belterra Park after redeeming all of my loss rebates. I have never been very good with working towards comps, as I am a pretty low roller. I visit a casino maybe once every few months, and have a budget of about $300. I stick to Craps and slots mostly. This gets my wife and I mailers with $5 or $10 in free play, and buy one get one free buffets, along with a few bucks in comps which makes the buffet price even less.

Wins/losses are tracked by your player's card. You'll want to make sure it registers when you place it into a machine. Losses are rounded to the nearest $10. It's possible they may always round down. So if you're down $69, I'd bump it to $70 at least.

I'd be careful with that, Meadows rounded down to the nearest $50 when they did their slot loss rebate, or maybe it was $25, but it wasn't $10.

Belterra Park's rules explicitly say $10 increments on the web.
Hollywood Joliet for new members (and they weren't connected with Marquee Rewards yet) did $100 increments up to $500 rounded down about a year ago. I checked with the player's desk before I left on that one. 40/10/6 DDB wasn't as kind to me as I hoped. :-\
