I went to the Isle of Capri in Biloxi shortly after Katrina departed. I had made the mistake of not knowing in advance the heat and humidity in that down. After all, I expected to be in air conditioning all the time. The trouble was that the casinos were spread out and I kept getting contradictory information about shuttles. One executive actually said to me we are not going to help you get to a different casino. So in frustration, I actually walked two longish blocks to the then temporary facilities of The Palace. One simply does not walk even such a short distance in the noonday sun of Biloxi! I arrived at The Palace so dehydrated and over-heated that I sat in their lobby for fifteen minutes. Even when I ventured to their craps table, I was still so dehydrated that I could barely think. I thought I was losing heavily but when I went to the cashier's window I found that I was marginally ahead.

The trip was ofcourse very unpleasant in many respects but the worst was the utter rudeness of the craps dealers at the Isle of Capri. It is the ONLY casino in the world in which I came close to belting a stickman.

Of all the casinos in which I have played I really must say that The Isle is the ONLY one which I will never even consider setting foot in again! And it has nothing to do with their being a real Sweat-The-Money joint!
