Agreed, not a fan. But Penn Gaming's Hollywood Casinos and their bland, generic, movie theater feel seems to work well for them. Maybe Gilbert is trying to tap into that.

Dumb name.
The employees at Horseshoe Cleveland spend most of their time assuring regular players that their TR status will be matched by Rock (Now Jack?) Gaming and in fact have better benefits!

Of course, that status presumably isn't going to include earning comps and rooms in Vegas, Atlantic City, etc... and therefore they are losing a distinct advantage over the other casinos in the region.
One wonders if other things like VP paytables, BJ rules, etc. will improve to be more competitive, but I won't hold my breath.

Cleveland changed a significant portion of their lower stakes tables to 6:5 after it was already known that CET would no longer be affiliated with the property in the near future.

No 6:5 at GT....yet. All CSM though except $25 tables near high limit and in high limit.

We got a letter in the mail from Dan Gilbert's ROCK GAMING recently, which said in part:
"Rock Gaming's new loyalty club will feature partnerships with local restaurants and hotels, in addition to special offers, trips, gifts and complimentary benefits".
Previously, I thought they had said they would have some sort of rewards relationship with some properties in Vegas. I guess we'll have to wait and see if that is still part of their plan.

This made me think of the You Don't Know Jack video game show series. It's fairly cool. the questions are asked in humorous and strange ways. More thinking involved with different clues.

What's in a name, anyway?
"Bill's" sounded like a stupid name at the time. So does "Cromwell" but we got used to, and even embraced them.
We scratched our head the first time we heard "Luxor" but now can't bear to think they would name it anything else, despite how much de-theming they do.
"The D" ? Sounded dumb. But now that we know Derek, and learned that that's a nickname of his, we love it.
Jack? It may be the next Mirage. Then again, it may fade into the sunset, like SLS...

The logo has the 4 card suits so I guess hearts, clubs,diamonds or spades wasn't good enough. Aces,Kings ,queens did not make the cut .
Unless it was totally stupid I don't think it makes any difference . I have been to places named "sugar house , penn national and rivers " casino. Of course a standard name like Hollywood , horseshoe , etc have solid meanings in our minds because of national recognition . But they are "stupid" names if you think of it. Just like band names, they might sound weird until they blow up and it is normal to everyone . What is a foo fighter and why would anyone name a band that??.... Oh who cares, they are awesome and foo fighters is now a a cool name .
On rewards , I tweeted at them yesterday and got the basic reply . I really hope there is some kind of relationship with them and a Vegas group . I just got comped rooms on the strip and am looking at going again for free later this year (with CET) . Vegas benefits are a huge part of the reward credit system to me. I really don't care about free rooms at greektown if that was to come .
