Quote: YelpI have a love/hate relationship with Bucky's.
I love the fact you're attached to the hotel.
I hate the fact your ventilation system is HORRIBLE and I leave smelling like an ashtray.
Quote: YelpThe problem is, you have to walk in this place to win. I really wish I could gamble here in a hazmat suit. Don't know why they won't let me wear one. With that said bring either your pocket germ gel or portable shower. This place is the Worlds largest petri dish filled with Prescott's finest fluids. My recommendation is to get in, don't breath, win big and get the f___ out! Just hope you win enough money to fix any medical issues you incur. I have a great slogan for this gem. "Bucky's Casino, We guarantee you will leave with something!"
Quote: YelpThe biggest drawback by far though, is the disgusting cigarette smoke. The ventilation system in this casino is terrible. Cigarette smoke lingers and fills up the entire place. All of your clothes and hair will wreak like cigarette smoke after you have stepped foot in this casino for any amount of time.
Quote: YelpAs the other reviewers have stated, this casino is small and smokey. Also, it felt very dirty and run down. I didn't really enjoy my time there because of that.
Quote: Yelpbut I just could not tolerate the SMOKE!! I coughed and wheezed for 3 days after spending only 30 minutes there. Not enough people winning to justify the health risk.

Anybody go here frequently? Talk about having to live in a very horrible reality, I can't imagine going to this place with any frequency at all. The places I go to smell fresh and clean. Every now and then I go to El Cortez which is a little nasty, and it makes me appreciate how good the ventilation and smell is in the real casinos here in Las Vegas. It must be terrible if this is all you got!
This is why they are building a BRAND NEW casino, which will break ground by the end of the year. About 65 million when it's all said and done is my guess. 50,000 square feet of gaming space, 200 seat buffet, 700 seat entertainment venue, multi-story hotel with a steak house on the roof, bingo, keno, nicer poker room, more tables in the pit and a lot more. The air handling system will be state of the art. Many Las Vegas Strip casinos use the same kind.
Everyone, employees and customers alike, are excited about the new casino, not only for the casino itself, but it is bringing additional jobs and will bring in additional tourism to the area, which is always good for a small town.

Quote: FleaStiffEighty machines in the no smoking room... probably have to walk through the smoke to get there though.
The current non-smoking room has its own entrance/exit. You can go through the regular casino, but if you choose to you do not have to. This was only added a year or two ago, but it's been very popular.

I note all the big strip casinos seem to have very good air filtration systems.
Yeah, it only takes money.

Oh cool. Excellent place for that, then. Is there a racebook or is one expected in the new spiffy joint?Quote: Zcore13That's at the casino across the street.

There might be off track betting in the sports bar. Too early to know for sure right now.

Quote: AhighBucky's is awesome.
How so?
The place is so small and so densely packed, you have to walk sideways to get around.
There are no craps tables for you, and the air quality is exceedingly bad.
This is the smokiest place on the planet.
Twin Arrows is much better.

Yeah. Oh well.
I didn't have time to stop in or check the place out. We were in Arizona for my step-son's hockey games.
I don't know if I would ever go by there or not. It seemed pretty far off the beaten path (like an hour or more).
We were already travelling a ton and had kids with us, so it didn't make sense to stop in there, really.
But I wanted to go. I have always wanted to go just to see what it's like.
Arizona was fantastic. I had no idea all the stuff that is new and being built up over there.
Quote: AhighI went to Arizona a couple of weeks ago and finally got the chance to see where this place is.

So why did you say it was assume in an earlier post?
Quote: BozSo why did you say it was assume in an earlier post?
Huh? Honestly, I don't even remember saying it was assume.
Quote: teddysI've actually been inside Bucky's. Don't ask me why. I don't remember what it smelled like. It was a very cramped and not well-designed casino. They need the new one.
Very cramped when busy. It was never meant to be a casino. We were the first Tribal Casino in Az. There was an armed standoff at one point with authorizes and the Tribal Members.
The new casino is going to be really nice. State of the art air handling, buffet, entertainment venue, sports bar, steak house, hotel.

I was very impressed with Arizona in general and Scottsdale specifically. I hope you guys get a nice new casino and some awesome games.
Quote: Entirelejoin!) Let`s avenge smokers with Pooo)) :D
I'm looking forward to checking this place out when they open up the new building.
I'm thinking right now that I would want to ride my motorcycle as soon as they have a game that I am interested to play.
It would be cool if their new casino included some space for skill-based gambling.
Quote: AhighIt would be cool if their new casino included some space for skill-based gambling.
Does anywhere in Vegas have skilled based gaming? I thought skill based gaming was still a "regulations in progress" type situation and wasn't available anywhere yet...I may not be up to date.
That being said, not sure what the point of this thread is...I have yet to go into a casino property and not be aware of the smoke. Smoking sort of comes with the territory and I don't care what kind of air filtration system you have in place, when people smoke indoors, you are going to smell it. I actually have been to Bucky's, it didn't seem that much different than many other tribal properties I have been to in my lifetime.
This thread is like..."Does traffic really come to a standstill on The Strip at night?"...ahhh, sometimes, but who cares.
