I find it hard to believe that Face couldn't find ways to have fun anymore....
For the record, I am also jealous of people having tickets to the Winter Classic.
(go leafs)
they wanted $219 a night for him... so i got them for him for free
Lets hope he doesnt play those JoB machines at the $1 level that are paying 7/5 ( I kid you not) the progressive bank of machines JoB at $1 pay 7/5
Quote: coilmanSorry cant help you out ...used up my three nights at Caesars Windsor for a buddy who wanted to come into town for the STYX concert last night,

Just spent 2 nights at Caesars Windsor. I played the "I-pad" Blackjack, since I thought it was the best game for my bankroll house advantage-wise. Also played the best (but not very good) 9/6 JoB I could find. We had 2 nights for free thanks to the Mrs' account, so part of my goal was to try to get that kindof perk for me to double-dip. The room was very nice, the buffet just so-so. I did like the fact that Valet parking is free when you stay there. It would be nice if the TV had ESPN, but it doesn't.
ESPN ends about halfway across the river.... TSN rules the Canadian side
Quote: coilmanThe buffet there has gone way done hill over the past 4 or 5 years.
Yeah, I'll second that. Is there a rule in Canada that there shouldn't actually be any fish in the Sushi ? Now on the other hand, I had the Motor City buffet today and it is excellent, but a little pricey.
Quote: dwheatleyDoes anyone have comments about parking at one of the Detroit casinos and walking to and from Comerica park at night? It's free, and under a mile no matter which casino I pick, but I'm looking for insight as to which walk(s) are safer and/or routes to avoid.
I used to park at Greek Town and take the people mover... just walk the last block and a half
Quote: IbeatyouracesEven if you don't use the people mover, it's a 5 minute walk. Greektown will charge $10 sometimes but reimburse it in free play. MGM is total free parking and about a 10 minute walk down Adams St.
I walk between all three casinos day and night and have never had a problem.
I have personally known four people who have been shot in my lifetime
Being from Windsor Ont CANADA thats a crazy number of people.... fact is three of those were shot in Detroit while being robbed
one of them was an off duty Windsor Police office parked in the parking lot of Murrays Auto Parts in Mexican Town..he was very lucky to survive as Detroit Police officers didnt wait for an ambulance and rushed him in their patrol car to the nearest hospital
Walking out of a casino into the middle of downtown isnt my idea of a SAFE BET
Oh if you are wondering about the fourth person.... guy I grew up with was shot and killed by police in a small town outside Windsor during a call for a domestic dispute
Quote: IbeatyouracesBy no means should anyone ever let their guard down. There will be thousands of hockey fans in town the next few days that they'll blend right in.
I have known several people who have been shot. All hunting accidents, 2 fatal, except my ex-husband, who had 3 Purple Hearts and 2 bullet holes from Vietnam (the third was for an accident on duty, not live fire). Another type of hunting, I guess.
I'd just park at MGM and walk.

seems to me he is asking if walking around downtown Detroit at night is a safe bet.... my opinion as a person that lived across the river for over 40 years and spent a lot of time in that city going to hockey games baseball, games car shows ect.... is I wouldnt chance it
