Yes, it's right downtown. There's a parking garage on-site. You might remember from the construction, the parking structure collapsed and caused a significant delay. I think it's a pay-for-parking situation, with validation for play.
The sister property in Cleveland rarely goes below $15 for BJ and craps. There's better closer competition for the Cincy property than there is for Cleveland, but the location and relative novelty may still result in higher-than-average limits.
The area surrounding the casino from what I can tell with streets and traffic is not set up for walking. Downtown attractions would be a mile or more if you could walk. There is no hotel on the property but they have a shuttle to all of the downtown hotels that runs every 30 minutes. I was able to get a comped room at the Hyatt Regency on a Sunday night a few weeks ago.
For the video poker players, I found 9/6 full pay JoB at $2 and $5 credits but only on a few of the machines.
The casino is non smoking which I like. For the gamblers in Lexington KY HorseShoe Cincinnati is slightly closer then HorseShoe Southern Indiana. I will likely keep HorseShoe Southern Indiana as my first choice with the hotel on the property and better blackjack rules.
I thought the casino was very nice. It's brand new after all, medium in size. I'd say 25-30 BJ tables. 12-14 Carnival games, including 3 card, 4 card, UTH, and Let it Ride. The table games were arranged in one big line down the center of the casino with a bar in the center of the row that breaks it up into effectively, two long pits.
Didn't play any craps or roulette but all were $10 min. Double zero only. 3x4x5x odds on craps.
BJ was H17, No surrender, no RSA, double any two, split up to 3 times for a total of 4 hands. 8 deck. BJ pay's 3-2. Good penetration, they only cut out about a deck to a deck and a half. Interestingly the High Limit room (which started at $50) had the same rules as the low limit $10 tables including H17...so why play in there I wonder?
Staff was friendly and helpful. Free non-alcoholic drinks, even at the bar when not playing(first time I've seen this that I recall). Booze you pay for.
Sorry but I didn't play any slots or VP. They seemed to have quite a few VP machines however.
All in all a pleasant facility, but nothing special.
In the State of Ohio, a casino cannot legally provide free alcohol.
Quote: vendman1So just returned from my vacation and wanted to report on my trip to Horseshoe Cincy. It is right in the middle of downtown. Free garage parking for all, for now anyway. Valet parking free with diamond card. $10 for all others.

That is not a great blackjack game. Could the high limit room have been 6 decks? That would be better but still not great.
Anyone venturing to Twin River Casino will find themselves paying for alcohol per the state of Rhode Island.
Quote: Mission146That sounds almost the same as Horseshoe Cleveland. Especially the part about the staff, I've not been to Cincy, but the staff in Cleveland was fantastic.

If you ask at the host desk for food comps at Margaritaville the comps can be used for drinks with meal purchase. Maybe the restaurants are independently operated and that is why.

Dag Nabit...I hate when that happens. By "that" I mean me being an idiot.
