"I always tell the truth, even when I lie."
-Tony Montana
Same here, but I rarely adopt that easier and safer path and tend to live by the motto "Never tell the truth if a lie will do half as well". Of course, that in itself may be a lie.Quote: DJTeddyBearI suffer from C.R.S., so it's easier and safer to just tell the truth when possible.
You come to a fork in the road. One path leads to a village where everyone tells the truth. The other path leads to a village where everyone tells lies. Someone comes from behind from one of the two villages, but you don't know which. You may ask him one question to determine which path goes to which village. What do you ask?

Ask him, "If I were to ask you the road that leads to the village where everyone tells the truth, what would you say?"

In The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser (Jeder für sich und Gott gegen alle), Werner Herzog makes a minor change in the question, for a completely different result.

I always thought you should ask, "If I were to ask you 'Does this path lead to Truthville?', would you say 'Yes'?", because as a truth-teller, he would truthfully say that his answer would be "Yes", and as a liar, he would falsely report "Yes", knowing that he would have lyingly said "No".
Is this right?
