This whole convo started because AZ said only suckers donate. I merely pointed out that Trump is a sucker because he bragged about donating...over and over. But then, in predictable fashion, he said that Trump wasn't a sucker, but everybody else must be?
Again with the different set of rules for Trump vs. everybody else.
Maybe I need to clarify.
Trump, and guys like him, have to donate as a cost of doing business. As I said, same as a bodega owner in Ozone Park has to sponsor a little league team that does not exist. Occasionally paying the shakedown is the only way. Microsoft learned this in the late 1990s. They did not make donations. They got investigated for anti-trust violations.
People who donate thinking it matters. like those suckers who sent checks to Obama in 2008 to "make a difference." They are wasting their money. Sending it to a machine of political consultants and ad agencies. Their hard earned money, gone.

I don't know anything about any of that. I have noticed that AZDuffman tends to make absolute statements a good deal of the time, even when he might not intend to. For instance, if his statement had been, "Everyone below a certain income level who donates to politicians is a sucker," I wouldn't necessarily be opposed to that statement.
There's no question that there is a certain quid pro quo that is possible when a wealthy individual makes a donation to a politician. Unless that politician is Gary Johnson, he'll just offer you a refund if you don't like what he's doing.

Yes, I make absolute and general statements because we are having a general conversation. I expect most readers understand this kind of conversation. I do not care about some exception someone knows in Racine, Wisconsin which does not change the general statement.

Sure it does. It can be the difference between ordering a massacre and ordering the attack on combatants. It does service to a whole host of wrong-headed thinking.

I can't even follow whatever point you are trying to make.
In my life I have learned the more intelligent people can handle generalized conversation. They draw the conclusion of what is being presented. Less intelligent people or those trying to look more intelligent than they are always mention the rare exception. They cannot draw the conclusion.

Mission's example couldn't be characterized as a rare exception. He was still referring to a large group of people.
In my life, I've learned more intelligent people prefer to be accurate, or correct as possible, time and circumstances permitting.

Own hand, CIA, Mossad, DNC. Take your pick.
He died hours after 2,000 pages of court documents from a 2015 lawsuit, naming prominent Democrats were unsealed.
No one knows where he got his $500 million. He supposedly ran a hedge fund, but no clients have been found.
One theory is that he worked for the Mossad, setting up politicians and world leaders for blackmail.
The FBI had him twelve years ago. Then the feds dropped their charges and allowed him to plead to lesser state charges. That could only have been approved by Meuller and Comey.
Would not be surprised if his girlfriend Maxwell ends up the same way. 'Broken heart' and all.
And he still suicides?
Where's my list...

Lol. There I go joking again.
If this was an NYPD facility, the warden would be putting in his papers, and heads would roll.
Epstein was in a Federal Correctional facility, and Warden Shirley Skipper-Scott, will probably get a promotion as a reward for her incompetence.

A lot of powerful people are breathing easier today. I hope security tapes and logs exist and are made public. I know if I had a bunch of powerful people over for wild parties, I'd keep a record of some type. It might come in handy someday.

Quote: TankoAmazingly, despite being found unconscious a few weeks ago after a possible suicide attempt, high profile prisoner Epstein was not on suicide watch.
If this was an NYPD facility, the warden would be putting in his papers, and heads would roll.

Suicide Watch is something that is challenging to stay on (requires a lot of resources, you can't just keep a prisoner on it for months on end), and most inmates do not want to be (and will work to get off of it).
My guess is if somebody as well connected as Epstein wanted to get off suicide watch, he easily can. It likely was not a conspiracy, he probably told the overworked, underpaid prison counselor "I have been feeling better and more accepting of my condition" and was removed. Especially, because he likely explained that the last incident was an accident, and there was no confirmation to prove otherwise. Maybe not the best system, but that is how it often works out....
If somebody wants to commit suicide, they will find a way. I doubt there is any conspiracy, other than Epstein working to get in a position to off himself after he realized that there is no getting out this time.
Add no less than George Mitchell and Bill Richardson to the growing list. Let's not forget that it was Richardson who took care of Monica Lewinsky after Clinton's fling.Quote: EvenBobYeah, it was Trump who was worried,

There is nothing in the article you linked to suggest that. Why is it you and Max consistently make wrong statements, then add a link thinking it will not be read?
Let me repeat-There is nothing in the article eb posted to suggest trump banned epi for any recruiting..
For some people sexual assault may not be exactly be "recruiting," according to their extraordinarily high standards: "Trump later banned Epstein from the property, allegedly due to a sexual assault on a girl there, according to previously disclosed court records."Quote: billryanThere is nothing in the article eb posted to suggest trump banned epi for any recruiting..

It turns out Trump ain't any none too damn religious too much! Who would have guessed that? Affairs with porn stars with a baby in the house? No problem. Grab them by the *****? No big deal. Paying said porn star for her silence and lying about it? It's cool.
But...now you've said, 'Goddamn,' and that thur's a lynchin' boy.
He's a religious white guy, though. Favorite book is The Bible. Said so himself.
You can prove it by asking him what the First Commandment is, I've got $5 he says, "Thou shalt not kill," you can have the field at even money. Thou shalt not kill is wrong, of course, it's "I am the Lord thy God, thou shalt not have any gods before me."
Just to clarify, I don't have a problem with him sleeping with porn stars, paying them hush money or shooting off his mouth with, 'locker room talk,' in what he thought was a private conversation. I just think it's funny that he has to say, "Goddamn," all over the place for the Evangelicals (whose waist size likely often exceeds their IQ score) to acknowledge that he's not all that Religious of a guy.
I mean, I get why they voted for him, "He used 'Bible,' in a sentence in a speech, AND HE'S WHITE TOO, LINDA!!!" But, goddamn, you're just now realizing that he doesn't hold your God's Commandments sacred and above all else?

Yeah, “Trump sucks,” definitely won’t resonate with the liberals. It hasn’t been all I’ve ever heard for the last three years, or anything.
Granted, it didn’t work for Clinton, but her platform was as much, “I’m a woman, vote for me,” as anything else. Besides that, people like Biden better than they do Clinton and Obama’s Presidency is looked upon more favorably now than when he first left office.
Finally, Biden is all about electability. His only focus right now needs to be he’s the guy best poised to beat Trump. After all, this isn’t the General Election yet, so he really just needs to paint himself as Moderate and electable and (some of) the other candidates as too liberal without coming out and flatly saying their ideas suck in a way that alienates the far left.
Let’s unite against our common foe, basically. If he wins the nomination, that’s when you’ll see him try to pander to Independents with ideas a little more evolved than, “That Trump Guy sucks, amirite?”

Given who is in charge everything Federal, it's both obvious and crazy that Trump supporters are going to question everything that is reported, while never once questioning the presidents role in it.
Trump could easily find out if any protocols were breached and insist on a full investigation to get to the bottom of what happened leading up to Epstein's death. It's obvious he won't, because he knows his supporters are so desperate to make up their own stories and so desperate to not have that taken away

Let me correct that. They will always demand nothing be done to infringe on their abilities to believe any story they want.

Yeah, an investigation into a prison death. Because those always get to the bottom of things.
Seems like Fredo Cuomo has a violent streak. Hopefully someone reported him to police where he lives as he is obviously a violent individual and should not be allowed to have guns or be neat them.
