Just curious, how much to get in?
Not that I am interested, just curious.
I am ok with the whole gay thing, just would never go to this type of party, a hetro hook up would be imposible :-)
They usually spin great EDM, which is what I enjoy.
Plus it's interesting to see the clothing and accessories they wear, as gay men are usually well dressed, trend conscious, and have a sense of style.
The historical reference may or may not be coincidental. The Luxor Baths, on 46th Street near the Avenue of the Americas in Manhattan, featured steam baths and the debut of Bette Midler.Quote: AxelWolfApparently the best gay pool party is at the Luxor.
I have no clue, I didn't know they had their own pool parties.Quote: terapinedJust curious, how much to get in?

If straight people had their own parties someone would complain.
Blacks can have their own things like BET. If white people even hint at something being white only all hell breaks out.
To wit, I don't think there is anything about BET, in and of itself, that implies a hatred of Caucasians or expresses that Caucasians either may not or should not be allowed to watch it. I think that, as most other channels, they would be happy with all of the viewers they can get as increased ratings drive advertising revenues because companies are willing to pay more for the spots.
I would also suggest that there are de facto straight events, such as the speed dating things, Ive not been to one, though I would imagine the assumption is it will be for straight people unless the opposite is expressly stated.
It can be assumed, but not said.Quote: Mission146I think the question is one of implied exclusion. I'd find it difficult to believe that homosexuals would frown upon heterosexuals merely attending a gay pool party.

Their could never be White ET. However WET sounds good for an adult entertainment network.
That has been the policy of a special lounge at my alma mater for more than 25 years.Quote: Mission146I think the question is one of implied exclusion. I'd find it difficult to believe that homosexuals would frown upon heterosexuals merely attending a gay pool party.

Exactly. Someone tell me how the show "Blackish" isn't racist. If I came out with "Whiteish", I'd never hear the end of it!

That's pretty interesting. Is there any history of sexual preference based violence on campus?
Unfortunately, there have been cases where allegedly heterosexual guys have posed as homosexuals to gang up on a homosexual after appearing to, "Pick him/her up," the Matthew Sheppard case is probably the most well-known. Perhaps they want to avoid something like that...or maybe they just don't like straight people.
None really, except for a recent tortuous rape allegation (heterosexual division).Quote: Mission146That's pretty interesting. Is there any history of sexual preference based violence on campus?

So, I guess the Luxor pool is your new 'hangout'? lol.
I don't know who came up with this rating, but they haven't attended one of MY pool parties. :)
That's because she knew something, she was just trying to make you feel better. I think whomever came up with the Flintstones song was just sneaking something in, he knew he could get away with it.Quote: kewljHow do we know what definition of 'gay' they are using? My grandfather used to tell me that' gay' meant festive and happy. :/
Think about all of the hate oozing out of the American population this week after the SCOTUS ruling on marriage equity for all. People who have prejudices, want to be warned about where they Don't want to be. Otherwise, they raise holy heck about the affronts to their sensibilities and religion. People feel like they have a constitutional right to not feel offended!
Disneyland and Disneyworld go through this every year with things like "Gay Days" or even "Goth Days". Both are completely unofficial and group events organized from outside sources, yet people like to complain to Disney about the "non-family friendly" other guests sharing the park with children and families.

Yes, because if you disagree with a Supreme Court ruling it's because of hatred.

Then Venn diagram you're referring to, is not the one I am. :)
