So I walk into the NYE gala and approach a table with my parents and a guy yells from the other end of a banquet table that he is saving fourteen (14) seats,
Now, I have heard of saving a seat at the movies but saving 14 seats at a NYE gala/dinner…is this acceptable?

I guess I can understand having 14 people who want to sit together. But, at an invitation-only event like this, it should have been easy for a host/hosts to make this happen without this poor guy having to try to do it himself. And, no, it's not particularly OK for the guy to even try to do it. Desire aside, the situation just didn't lend itself to an attempt like this.

Totally rude and unacceptable, imho. I am pretty sure the universe does not revolve around that joker.
There's emptiness behind their eyes
There's dust in all their hearts
They just want to steal us all and take us all apart
