Miley Cyrus brings a twerking little person onstage in Las Vegas
This is an example of REAL musical talent. I don't know who these people are, but there is no auto-tune or any other type of trickery going on here, just great singing:
Quote: Beethoven9thI was gonna grab a bite to eat, but then I came across this story about Miley & a twerking midget and lost my appetite. Thanks, Miley!

My brother was there for this; it was at the I heart Radio concert at MGM Grand. He said the place went insane, warned me I'd be seeing this image all over the place. You'd already posted it. Ain't no grass growing underfoot around here!
Quote: beachbumbabsI usually have little argument with boymimbo, but I only have to look at Macaulay Culkin or Justin Bieber to say that it's not whether they're boys or girls. There are lots of others through the years of both sexes. They're in this coccoon, surrounded by sycophants and people looking to make money off of them by trading on their bankability, making ridiculous money, and trying to predict (if they even think about it at all) from within their bubble how what they do will be perceived outside. Women have, loaded on top of that, the double standard about going from innocent girls who are not to be thought of as sexual beings to WILF's, but still need to maintain bankability. Some who recovered after making serious errors in that direction include Brooke Shields and Winona Ryder. Some didn't recover.
I think the double standard is what I was talking about. Males tend to go it more gracefully (save Bieber, my Canadian boy) because of the double standard and the ability for them to dabble more in drugs and wild behaviour with acceptance more than woman do. I guess you could call out Michael Jackson too.
Quote: beachbumbabsGrace Kelly, in her day, was easily as ugly as Miley Cyrus in her behavior for those times. They just had publicists to shut the media up and the studios killed less-than-flattering pictures and stories. Grace was a very diffferent girl away from her movie star image.
Thanks for bursting my bubble.

Sorry, ttb. History is what it is. She was a lonely person within her publicity bubble, and became a legend when she walked away from all of it. She lived well and died happy, though very prematurely. I think you can keep enjoying, even admiring her, just maybe for different reasons.
give Sintra even a nod. This really pissed Frank off and he never
spoke very highly of her. He didn't like the word no..
Bob at what age dose one get stuck in the past?Quote: EvenBobGrace Kelly dated a lot of Hollywood men, but she would never

I'm afraid I didn't bring up the Grace Kelly topic,
ask them.
Quote: djatcTaylor Swift is definitely better.
More talent and better looking than Miley too. I'm surprised more guys don't like her.
Some start out in Disney type rolls trading on youth and good wholesome looks and then capitalize on their fame by going tawdry, some have managers that view their career potential differently.
Some have careers based more on papparazi and press releases than on actual performances requiring talent.
Some simply have the requisite 14 inch waist and general anorexic look that Hollywood currently favors.
I'm from a generation that does not call females unattractive so I won't be voting in the poll but quite frankly would you be able to tell me who she is? Graduate of Orange County Reality Show? Or what? Some teeny bopper hit parade show?
For many people its all a matter of agents and attending "the right" functions and being seen on some red carpet in the presence of diamonds or something.

Probably because Taylor is stupid and annoying away from the stage. She sounds like she's 13 in any interview.
And Miley isn't???Quote: tringlomaneProbably because Taylor is stupid and annoying away from the stage.
Oh, come on now, men have been judging women's looks since the beginning of time. And vice versa. lol...Quote: FleaStiffI'm from a generation that does not call females unattractive...

I don't follow the celebrity news so all I hear is what I listen to on the radio, or see on TV. Her songs are quite catchy and like I said earlier it's a guilty pleasure, but I have never had a Miley Cyrus song stuck in my head except for Achey Breaky Heart from the stupid VH1 90's hits show. That wasn't her it was her dad so there you go.
I immediately thought about Billy Ray's famous (infamous?) daughter and never would have guessed in a million years that Eminem's daughter would be the normal looking one. LOL
Hailie Jade Scott
Miley Cyrus
Wrecking Ball itself is a reasonable pop tune. The video took it over the edge for consciousness in the market to sell units. Every viral mashup video is a win for Miley. At least short term.
That's a good point. When she was born though, I would have pegged her to follow in the footsteps of Jon Bon Jovi's daughter or Jeb Bush's daughter. Good for her for being normal.Quote: thecesspitEminem's daughter isn't (currently) in the industry.
It's the long term that's gonna be a b*tch.....lol ;)Quote: thecesspitEvery viral mashup video is a win for Miley. At least short term.

Yup. She told Matt Lauer on Today that men
over 40 can't have sex anymore. Whatever
she can say to keep her name in the paper.
PT Barnum invented it.
Not like I'd have a chance with any of them in real life but she just isn't my type. Now the girl from Harry Potter, that's a different story.
Quote: PerditionIf she flicks her tongue any more, I'll think she is training to catch flies.
A few years from now the next pop sensation will have to top previous ones. Perhaps the next one will pick her nose and eat the booger.
