[In honor of Father's Day]
I think parenthood goes like this: From birth to about nine, to your little kids you are a god. You stride the earth; the ground shakes when you walk by. You seem to know everything.
From 9-12, strange looks come your way but no conclusion has been made about you. But doubt is rising.
From 12 to 22 --- my God, Dad, you are a damn idiot!
From 23 to 30, gee Dad, you seem to have gotten a lot smarter than you used to be.
After 30? Hey, Dad, you're a human being...and I love you. That's the way it is. Or should be.

Been reading Mark Twain again? "When I was young I thought my father was the biggest idiot on the face of the planet. By the time
I reached 30, it was amazing how much the old man had learned."
"It's not called gambling if the math is on your side."
