2700 miles in a Mini-Van + Horseshoe Southern Indiana

Just got back from our 2nd annual trek to Orlando
for Christmas. (see Impressions of Horseshoe
Southern Indiana below).

I rented a nice mini-van (leather interior, built in
DVD player, Satellite radio) at the local regional
airport close to my house.

When I saw how many hours mapquest estimated
for the total trip, I decided to get the nicest
vehicle I could.

I think I got a good deal, considering this was
a lot more comfortable and less cramped than
taking the smallish Chevy Equinox SUV we own.
It worked out to 23.5 cents per mile, not counting gas.
(My family does not pack lightly, so the extra space
and "Stow and Go" was nice to have).

And I put 2717 miles of depreciation over 10
days on someone else's vehicle, and got a few
frequent flier points.

On the return trip, we stopped at Horseshoe
Southern Indiana and used Race to Rewards
dollars to pay for the room and dinner.

The line for the buffet was really long all night
long, so we ended up eating in the cafe in
the hotel lobby, which was much less
expensive and probably much healthier overall,
so that worked out fine.

I played 9/6 JoB, and ended up about $ 80 ahead,
which didn't quite cover what my wife lost on
a crappier Dueces Wild paytable. It seemed
odd to me to have a good JoB paytable on the
same machine with a lousy (96.77 %) DW paytable.
But maybe they know what they are doing,
since my wife played it anyway.

Valet was easy, check-in was easy, rooms
were pretty nice. It also seemed like points
were earned faster than other CET properties
I have been to. But it's too far away for
us to go to very often.
