Over the 4th of July my fiancee and I went down to Vegas to gamble and get some shopping done. Overall it was a fun and relaxing trip where I only lost $60 and my fiancee finished up $130 thanks to a good hit on a LOTR slot at Cosmopolitan while we were trying to win big or lose $100 to take advantage of the slot rebate. I also finally found a suit to wear at our wedding in Hawaii next month so thank you Burlington Coat Factory!

Anyways, on our way back to Utah we stopped off in Mesquite for one last BlackJack session and to use my $10 birthday free play I had there. My free play earned me next to nothing and then I lost another $40 at the tables, so the day wasn't going very well.

For one last hurrah I decided to drop a $20 in the 'stinking rich' slot machine and hope to hit the bonus spins before the money ran out...and of course it ran out lol. I then noticed that my card had some free play on it to the tune of $3.77 cents! I downloaded that to my machine and four spins later I am out again. Sitting on the machine next to me is somebody else's players card that some person had obviously pulled out of a machine and displayed in nicely with the name facing out so the person who lost it could come pick it up if they remembered where they left it.

The card happened to be either diamond or platinum, I don't remember but I know it was the highest level this particular casino has, so I curiously stuck it into my machine to see if it had any free play on it and...bam over $290.00 in free play. Would you have downloaded the free play and turned it into nice free money for yourself or would you have turned the card in?

P.s. I turned the card in because I rationalized that while it would have guaranteed a winning trip for me and made me happy for the day, the person who lost it has obviously had thousands upon thousands of dollars of coin-in and seeing that her freeplay was gone could have ruined her entire week! I did think about it tho, and as we walked out of the casino I told my fiancee I sometimes wished my parents hadn't raised me to do the 'right thing' because the 'wrong thing' can be so darn enticing haha.

Would you even be able to use it without a PIN? I've only had free play on a card which required a PIN, or printed vouchers.
Each of us is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his own facts. Preparing for a fight about your bad decision is not as smart as making a good decision.

It sounds like you have a conscience, so you made the right decision. You made the winning move. Not worth losing sleep over.

Honestly I don't remember having to use my PIN to load my free play but I could be wrong. At any rate, this casino assigns PIN numbers using your date of birth so unless the person had changed their PIN it likely would have been possible to figure out what their PIN was.

I once found a wallet at the race track with $780,020 in it. I turned it in to Lost and Found, because I though maybe a poor person lost it.
