If you haven't seen this video, Natasha Smith is a pretty 21 year old British journalist who was the victim of a near gang rape in Egypt during the recent celebrations. She was preparing a documentary on women's issues in that country. She has chosen to discuss the assault publicly, and to say that it has not tempered her love for Egypt or it's people.
It is a pretty impressive but harrowing account.

The two incidents were very similar. As Natasha Smith is half the age of Lara Logan it appears to have been more of a massive sexual assault. Natasha Smith says that she was also told that rumors were spread that she was a spy, but she herself believes it was a thin pretext to violently assault a young Westerner.
Both reporters believe that there are dozens of cases of Arabic, African or Indian women that are assaulted as bad or much worse, that the media does not regularly report on.
When I was in Bahrain, the immigrants who work in the country are often assaulted, both men and women. Women are hired as domestic workers (usually from Sri Lanka), but a lot of women from East Europe and the Philippines work in the entertainment or medical professions.
