What kind of tree/fruit is this?

Sorry about this being so crazy off topic.... but i'm trying to figure out what kind of tree we have growing in our yard. I know it's not a buckeye tree, as we have one of those in our yard as well.

I live in Arkansas, if that helps give anyone any clues. My first thought was a kiwi, but i'm not sure. This seems like a weird place to have kiwi trees XD

I suppose it's possible. The fruits themselves are very hard though, so that's why i wasnt thinking about that in the first place.

The seed is incredibly hard, cannot cut through it at all.

Peach sounds about right. Considering how small they are right now, there's a lot of time for them to change. It looked fuzzy, so that fits as well. And the seed being hard, as the pit of a peach is incredibly hard.

It's just interesting to me because i have NO idea how it got there. Ah well :) Thanks for the replies guys!

Up here in the wilds of Southern New England, we actually had two peach trees growing in the yard. The never ripened only stayed green. I recognized it immediately from the immature fruit. Yours did a little better than ours, but wait until mid-August. They might ripen by then there.
Some people need to reimagine their thinking.

Peaches, or any other fruit that you want, ... and you don't need much "tree" to grow them.
