I assume everyone is familiar with the bars on the casino floors, when ones with the video poker/slot/bj/keno units built into the bar tops. The usual machines have a $.25 denomination on the VP, however there are a few that only go as low as $1. The bar on in the casino is one of the few places that I have seen that only go as low as $1, which is fine I suppose, however unlike every other bar I've been at on a casino floor, they do not comp you for drinks while you are playing those machines. Really Wynn... $1 minimum VP bets ($5 on max coin), and you won't comp the drinks while we're sitting there? BOO.
So I says to him, I said "Get your own monkey!"

I too have been fooled by the Wynn! I was at the Encore waiting for my dinner reservation time and was playing VP at the bar and the bartender asked me what I wanted, so I ordered a cosmo, it was $14! It was a very good cosmo, but I always thought the drinks are free while playing. Oh well! Although I can see why they would charge since the drink was quite delicious and not one of those cheap gun drinks that most of the other casinos use for their free drinks with the 1oz of liquor in it.

Teddys Wynn tip: If you want free Wynn drinks (and they are very good drinks, indeed), and you have a large enough bankroll, play the World Poker Tour All-in Hold 'Em game. It is located in the back near the other carnival games. You can usually play for $5/hand. The strategy can be found here.
The game is slow and at a house edge of 1.5% you can expect to lose about $3.75/hour depending on the number of players. Get one Cosmo and you're already ahead!

(P.S. Try the Mimosas)

Wait a sec...

If you're out on the floor, you can be playing 25¢ machines and get free drinks, but at the bar, it's $1 minimum play, AND you PAY for the drinks?

Holy crap!

What's the point of a bar-top machine if they aren't giving you the drinks for free?

Last year we were playing $15 pai gow poker at the Encore and drinking Mimosas... an excellent value!
