The LA Times ran a story a few days ago about casinos cutting back on free drinks:
http://www.latimes.com/travel/deals/la-tr-las-vegas-no-free-drinks-caesars-mgm-20161019-snap-story.html
Today I saw an article about how eventually casinos will go smoke-free:
http://triblive.com/aande/gambling/11341662-74/smoking-million-casinos
At the rate it's going, however, the end of free drinks in casinos will happen before the end of smoking in casinos, which means my ideal craps-shooting scenario -- with whiskey, without cigarette smoke -- may never come to pass.
*sigh*

First article refers to Caesars and MGM Grand...in other words, the strip. The strip is fast becoming a tourist trap catering only to the convention crowd that doesn't know any better. Plenty of free booze elsewhere in Vegas...

ME, if you care to make a trip down to the Gulf Coast, you can live the dream. I know that both Harrah's New Orleans and The Palace in Biloxi are both 100% smoke-free with comp drink service.Quote: MathExtremistAt the rate it's going, however, the end of free drinks in casinos will happen before the end of smoking in casinos, which means my ideal craps-shooting scenario -- with whiskey, without cigarette smoke -- may never come to pass.
