The soon-to-be-closed atlantic club has 25-cent chips on the BJ tables.

I remember the Riviera in LV used to use a real cheap looking pink chip for 50 cents on the Pai Gow tables for commission. Havent been there in 6-7 years so not sure if they still do. Maybe they were hoping customers would take them as souveniers.

Canterbury Park has 50¢ chips that are a couple steps down from what you can buy at Wal-mart.

Rounding up or down is dependent on the state gaming commission rules. When I worked in Iowa, we could round down (Making your $5 horn bet pay $33). In Colorado, we had to round up (Most managers were too dumb to allows us to book $5 horn bets).

Yeah, I play black jack to win and to have fun, not to bicker all night long. Heck they rotate dealers every twenty minutes but with this poster we have to put up with something over and over and over again whether its a real or imagined slight. I can understand it in the reality TV Real Housewives bickering contests that make thousands of dollars in each episode but what on earth is this guy gaining coming here to gripe all the time. Can't he just play blackjack quietly or go home?

Gee, imagine that. Someone posting about Casino Gripes in a place for "Gripes" online? Who woulda thought?

By the same token, I could tell you NOT to come to the "Gripes" section if you don't want to hear about complaints.

But then there you go complaining about someone else complaining, quite the hypocrite eh?

From a dealer's standpoint:

No matter what happens and no matter how much of an obnoxious toolbag a person is, I would never openly root against a player, even if I am secretly glad to see a person lose and will tell my floor so. This dealer needed a good, stiff talking-to.

That said, I have one request for my players, and 99% are good about this - please, for the love of all that is holy, bathe before you come to the casino.

This a thousand times over. Sometimes it's the hardest thing in the world to keep your disdain for a player bottled up, but a dealer's first job is to get butts in the chairs and keep them there. Without players, dealers have no paycheck, let alone any tips.

Pretty much, although it's still good to get rid of the toolbags. I had a guy on roulette who was betting nickels and taking shots on me nearly every spin - betting above table max on spots, betting past "no more bets," trying to move bets after "no more bets" - and I was both glad to have the practice dealing with a big player who tried to push me and glad to be rid of him.

Most of my players are fine, though, and I am always glad to have them, especially if it keeps me awake on grave shift.
