When you use a match play in blackjack and get a pair to split say if you have $10 bet and a $10 matchplay on the hand you can usually split by adding just $10 you don't need another matchplay essentially letting you split your pair for only half your original bet which might change the stragedy for splitting in some cases or make splitting more or less profitable it might make splitting 7's more profitable.

When you have a matchplay and get a hand that you would normally double down on without the matchplay you might want to think twice before doubling down because it takes your ability to rehit the hand away. Say you have a $10 bet with a $10 matchplay but when you double down you can only match your $10 bet and not the $10 match play this should change the basic stragedy so that you should more often hit. Rule of thumb that I would go by is this if you have two cards and you know that no matter what you will only want 3 cards say a 10-11 vs 2-6 I would double down but if you have a 10-11 vs a 7-Ace with the matchplay I would just hit why give up the ability to hit a 4th card for only a 50% better payout if you win? With an A-2 through an Ace-5 I would just hit. However with a A-6 or an A-7 vs 2-6 up cards I would double down because no matter what I draw I would not want to hit again and that is correct basic stragedy.

If I may split by only risking an additional amount equal to my original cash wager, I would also split 2's, 3's, and 7's vs 8 and 6's vs 7. And in an H17 game, I would also split 9's vs ace.

Here's a useful paper by James Grosjean on match coupons and other coupons.

Just for the record, A7 v. 2 is not a double at all.

It is in all H17 games with the exception of single deck.
