But it's a good idea. I don't recall ever seing any rules about how comps must be used.
Quote: only1choiceHave any of the members besides myself ever thought about sharing some of their comps with other members. For instance I am at the Mohegansun you tell me you will be in town on certain date, if I can make it I take you in to VIP lounge and maybe even get you show tickets if available. If you can reciprocate at your casino fine if not thats ok to. It just seems to me we have sort of a alliance among us and it could be a good idea. Possibly even the WIZ could set up something on the site, you say where and when and the members can pm you. Is this fantasy thinking? I get a lot of pleasure in sharing my comps with friends and family and I don't like comps to go to waste. Does anyone share these feelings?
EXCELLENT!
I was thinking about the same thing. I have comps for Caesars hotel properties in Atlantic City for most days; you only pay the taxes ($13 a day @ Caesars for example). Can I give a room to one of you guys for a few days without having to physically show up @ the hotel?
No. You always have to be there to physically check them in. Now, if you happen to be in AC at the same time as someone else and you have an extra offer to give, it might work...Quote: CrapsForeverEXCELLENT!

That said, if anyone is in Vegas in early June and wants two free nights at the Fremont, Sun-Thurs, I'll pass it on to you.

Is that normal for AC having to pay tax on comped room? I guess I'm spoiled at the mohegan, a free room is free.
No.Quote: only1choiceI am not able to take you up on the offer but would I be able to check in without you present?
When I was in Vegas for the SHFL event, I stayed one night at Fiesta Henderson, then switched to Ballys.
The thing was, I wanted to check in to Ballys at around 5:00, but the room was comped, in my brother's name, and he was flying in later that day.
I told this to the desk clerk, and also volunteered that I would pay the standard rack rate (I.E. The rate NOBODY pays) if my brother fails to show up, but allow my brother to get the rate fixed once he gets in town.
She went into the back for a good 2 or 3 minutes before coming back to say it was OK. But she followed it up with the fact that they weren't too busy. I.E. If they were busy, they'd rather have the room empty/available for a high roller than let me pay the rack rate.
I tried the same thing once at Foxwoods. My wife got a free room, but wanted to hit the casino immediately. At the desk, I met no resistance, other than a warning that she better stop by the desk before going to bed.
I've done this mainly in Biloxi where a Husband and Wife had different Comp Accounts that were not linked and each received separate mailers. They would often book Four Nights on his Card followed by Four Nights on Her Card, but instead of staying eight nights under separate names they would stay Six nights but simply leave on the morning of the Seventh day after giving me the key-card and check-out envelope. I'd then stay in a free room for the Seventh and Eighth night. The morning of what would have been their Ninth night, I just put everything in the Express Check Out box in the lobby, then several hours later, I would check-in to the hotel on my Card or else I'd just leave after having stayed there for two or three free nights.
Room comp are tricky though. And often you can't get house phone calls if people ask for you by your name. Its probably not worth the rigamarole anyway. Tail End Nights worked out well mostly. I'd often spend two days on my own reservation then officially check out of my room but my luggage was actually already in my Tail End Room and I'd stay there for two or three nights and then Express Check Out of that so there was no interaction at the desk at check out time.
Once a rich uncle asked for his nieces Players Club card and he played on her card for four days so a month later her mailer offered her several full meals at their high-end restaurant and lots of freeplay instead of the usual One Buffet and Five Dollars of Freeplay that she would normally get.
I know, it IS possible..but you'd have to be a real baller to have EXTRA comps...to which I am not...

Don't forget that Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods, et. al., are sovereign nations, in many ways not legally or financially part of what is termed the United States.
As far as checking in at Caesars Entertainment establishments, photo ID and a valid credit card have always been demanded.
Quote: FleaStiffthere is no way a hotel will ever check someone into a Comped Room unless the named-Compee AND his card is present at the check-in.
This is not true. Caesars lets a 'friend' of mine check in any number of days before I do and qualify for a nearly free room, and all I have to do is at least overlap them by one day. My friends stayed Saturday through Thursday and I checked in on Wednesday. The paid around $30 a night at the Rio as my 'friend'. They were told if I didn't arrive they would have to pay the rack rate upon departure.

Caesars frequently has a Friends and Family Rate, maybe all of the time, but I only see it promoted occasionally. I think that's quite a bit different from using a room comped in someone else's name. I rarely get a room for free, but Caesars frequently gives me a discounted rate based on my player's card. I think the Friends and Family Rate is just a promo to get a larger party going on when not everyone has a Total Rewards Card.
