"Kansas legislators moved closer Monday to dedicating revenues from state-owned casinos to pensions for teachers and government workers as part of a broader bill bolstering the long-term financial health of the state's retirement system..."
.........
Does anyone know how long it will take for the Kansas curriculum to include favorable references to gambling and casinos.

Probably before they include evolution.
As far as actually teaching the gambling...what happens to a school that teaches a literal interpretation of the bible in history class and gambling in math class?

I need to stop drinking when reading some of these posts... I almost choked on my iced tea from laughing so hard...

Heck, just imagine the fascinating new venues for class trips.
What is a "pony"?Quote: WizardofEngland"Now children, if you have $5 on a 17/18 split, a pony on the red and second column, how many total rewards do we earn?"
I don't know about Kansas, but when I was teaching, I used a roulette problem in teaching calculation of expected value. I proved an illustration from a casino gaming guide that showed the table layout and each of the possible individual wagers, and I asked the students to calculate which wager was the worst. Once I also made a weekend trip to Las Vegas and brought back decks of cards they were giving away at the Tropicana and gave them to the students. I still have four or five of those Tropicana decks.Quote: FleaStiffDoes anyone know how long it will take for the Kansas curriculum to include favorable references to gambling and casinos.
But no, that was in a state that didn't have casinos, just a lottery, and I don't think any of that money found a way to support my pension.
