first post here...

I only play blackjack and my strategy has been learned from reading this site. Last year I barely made it to HorseShoe Inndiana (Harrah's) platinum status. This month I recieved in the mail $800 in free table play coupons spread out over multiple days in March in the amounts of $150 and $100.

When I played my first coupon and won at a blackjack table I was paid the face value of the coupon. I expected it to be more like a cash bet the coupon was kept when I won. ie. I had $150 after the bet instead of $300 I expected. I was told that was how it worked and also that the coupons would only pay even money. ie. a blackjack would pay even money on the coupon.

So my question is, what is the best even money bet to use these coupons with that doesn't me really require me learning all of the rules of a new game? It doesn't seem blackjack is a very good place for the coupon since you should only win about 42% off any hand played. I found a baccarat game but it is a no commission game so it may not be good either.

the coupons do carry over on a pushed hand, so baccarat or pai gow poker/tiles would be a good place to play them. Just be sure to bet banker on the baccarat tables so that you'll push on ties.

Try Pass or Don't Pass on craps. If they let you, use the coupon for your free-odds bet.

all ties are a push in baccarat, regardless of the side you wager on.

This is true. In fact, the better bet is player with the free bet coupon.

I would bet player in baccarat or an even money roulette bet. I like to churn the coupons quickly, and it is a pain do it at the dice or BJ table.

Three-card is also a good choice and is in fact the highest value play. (Depends on whether you can play in on ante or play). Google "Beyond Coupons" by J. Grosjean.

I'm assuming you mean Horseshoe Southern Indiana (Horseshoe near Chicago is usually referred to as Horseshoe Hammond)...

First, how much did you play and WHAT did you play to get those coupons??? I play there a lot, and the most I get monthly is about $80 in free slot play. I get a lot of room offers (which I use) and food comps, but I'm frickin' Diamond... I'll never figure out how casinos market to people.

Second, does the Free Play HAVE to be used on even money bets? I believe with their new Reward Credits for Comps program they can be used for side bets and odds bets as well. In that case, breaking it up and going for broke might be the best strategy. However, since it's a mailer, it could be even money bets only.

True. Normally the Banker hand is more likely to win but only pays 19:20 whereas the Player hand pays 20:20 or 1:1 and is better for a Freebie Match coupon.

The most important thing is to READ the coupon and the casino's website to see what the rules are.

Using it at Blackjack is not wise but is better than not using it at all. I think its more fun to use it at a dice game but baccarat is a good way to get maximum value from it.

I play at HorseShoe Indiana (near Louisville on the Ohio River). I play 6-8 times/year and rarely risk more than my $500 ATM limit. I didn't lose last year or so far this year and a few times I was able to play in the high limits area for a long time on my winnings. I rarely play slots except I took a couple of friends who used my card when I had a 25x rewards and they played for a while on about $100. I just barely made the platinum level with 4010 points.

Last fall the the Ohio river I-65 bridge into Louisville was shutdown immediately after an inspection and just recently re-opened. I think HorseShoe has been agressive in getting their customers to return with the comps offers. I have been going there about 12 years and now am getting the best comps ever, even Saturday night rooms.

Coupons say free table play - no cash value $100 coupons must be played at a table game. Redeemable on a winning table games bet only. Use on any even money table game bet. Place offer in the betting area of the table game. You may add additional chips to this coupon. Valid until original bet is one or lost. Valid on even money bets only, unless otherwise approved by Management. If bet wins the coupon is replaced with its numeric value in chips.
