Adelson is basically a single issue voter. He is concerned about preventing a Palestinian state.
Single issue voters are (in my opinion), not people who only care about one issue, but that single issue decides on who they vote for. Many single issue voters are pro/anti abortion. Adelson cares about business decisions, but he is almost entirely influenced by the stand on Israel.

Or that he cared. It all turns into book and speaking revenue, eventually, with someone else paying for all the advertising and publicity in advance.

I don't think Newt is perfect by any means but I don't think there is a really great candidate in the race (on either side). We're going to have to pick the "best" from a deeply flawed pair of candidates...the last election I felt we were in this bad of a position as voters was the Ford/Carter one.
I have questioned Newt's desire to win the whole cycle. I don't get how you could open yourself up to all the scrutiny of your life by entering the race without surrounding yourself with the best people you can get and really going for the win. It almost seemed like the campaign distracted him from other more important things early in the race. I'm not saying he could have won, but he ran one lousy campaign. It still makes me wonder whether he really wanted to be President or if he was just running to say he had (and sell some books, get some speaking appearances, etc.).

I think we all want someone who will govern from the center, but we won't vote for anyone who doesn't campaign from the extremes.
Strange process, this politics. It might be broken.

No more extreme than claiming your god came from a woman who was impregnated by the thoughts of an angel, I suppose.

It isn't going to happen. Sands Cotai Central, will officially open on Wednesday, April 11, 2012.
From the 4th quarter of 2011, the casino revenue at the six properties (in $millions) was:
Marina Bay Sands Operations $654.0
The Venetian Macao $641.3
Sands Macao Operations $311.9
Four Seasons Hotel Macao $183.7
Las Vegas Operations $118.3
Sands Bethlehem Operations $97.9
Total Casino $2,007,099
Las Vegas is only a tiny percentage of the total corporate gaming revenue. Sheldon doesn't care anymore. As far as he's concerned, the Las Vegas operation is now basically a big hotel and convention center.
