Bovada Poker Interface

Hey...

Has anyone else been using the Bovada Poker program? Back when it was Bodog last year it was ok...you could have screen names, find other people you knew and play with them or meet new people as you were playing. Then around the time they went to Bovada it changed and the new format (I think) is terrible.

For instance; you are assigned a number whether it's a seat number at a cash game or registered number for a tourney with no other player info. They still have the "notes" tab available....what good is that? You'll never know if you're with the same people again. Also, some of the individual features are screwy... you can check the "fold" box but it unchecks if someone changes the action....(If I wanted to fold for 20 I certainly want to fold for 100). Anybody else seen this or have any info about them improving it?

Not specific to Bovada, but I've seen the check/fold button work, but if it's checked around, you are again asked after the next card.

The reason is simple. Maybe the free card you got improves your garbage to the point where you may call a bet.

I've never seen software where the fold button changes after a re-raise.

Regarding player numbers. That may be their attempt to prevent sophisticated / automated player history and analysis.

I've seen that other places too DJ. But on Bovada it can uncheck before the action comes to you in that round of betting....terrible interface. I've checked the box and gotten up to get something to eat then come back to find that it unchecked, everyone waited for me to time out and then it automatically sits me out. Crazy!

You need to click the "fold to any bet" box, that will fold your hand.

Yes, the interface is bad, but one of the few games around. And the microstakes are fairly soft IMHO.

Hey AZ... I didn't mind losing the nicknames, but it was nice to find people you enjoyed playing with previously. I like the $3-$5 tourneys or $.50/$1 cash tables. I tried the micro's but had a hard time taking it seriously - it just felt too much like play chips. You can play tight for an hour then get three people to call with garbage and suck out...I just can't do it anymore...lol.

The change about nicknames came a few days before the Bodog Bovada switch. The main reason they changed was to try and thwart the poker tracking software. I like/dislike it. I play most nights and did have a few people who I enjoyed playing with and had good games win or lose. So I do miss that aspect however not long before the change I was playing a $3 tourny and late in the game sucked a player out just before he would have placed in cash. For the next week he stalked me almost every game. Got to the point where it was no longer fun. The sad part is I just needed to wait since he would go all in all the time.
