Haha thanks I was perfectly fine. I had a little friction burn from the air bag on my leg and my midsection was a little sore from the air bags. Nothing too bad.

Today's chip of the day is from Hollywood Casino in Jamul, California. The casino opened on October 10, 2016. I didn't stay long as this was nearing the end of a long day. I believe I played Pai Gow Poker here and I lost $35. I didn't go very far into the casino as the tables were at the front but it looked like every other Hollywood Casino that I have been to. Hollywood has 1700 slots and 43 table games.
The chip looks like a standard Hollywood chip. It is a white RHC with two green edge inserts. The centre inlay is the same as other Hollywood chips with a red background with sand coloured writing. The casino name, location and chip denomination are all on the inlay.

It is curious that the chip says "Jamul - SD". I wonder if that is an error, since it should be "Jamul - CA"? If it is intentional, I assume the "SD" stands for "San Diego"? I'm pretty sure the isn't a Jamul in South Dakota.

The casino's web site refers to it as "Hollywood Casino, Jamul – San Diego".
And it is very nice that we are finally getting some new casino chips posted in this thread!

Yes I think they do that to bring in the San Diego crowd. It was only about a 25 minute drive to San Diego from the casino.

The only time I have listed the specific location of a casino in the index is when there are two (or more) casinos with the same name in the same state or category. Then I put the city on a second line. For California, the only such casinos we have so far are the Comstock locations (in Santa Clara and Tracy) and the Palace locations (in Hayward and Lemoore.)

I assume you were back home. Funny how you drive all those miles and something happens close to the house. I guess I have always hears that something like 70% of wrecks happen within 3 miles of home.

Today's chip of the day is from the Lucky Lady Casino in Gardena, CA. This casino was the former Normandie Casino which closed and was bought by Larry Flynt who owns Hustler Casino down the street. The casino has 60 table and poker games. I would say it was about half poker and half third party banked house games. I played 1/2 with a $200 max buy in here as that was the biggest game running. I signed up for a club card which gave me $20 cash for 2 hours of poker play. They comp you $8 worth of food as soon as you sit down and every 4 hours after that. I played my two hours in a pretty juicy game with two guys who would gamble with any two cards. I lost a few big pots early against them but ended up winning $60. It pained me to leave that game but I still had so much driving left in the day and couldn't waste anymore time.
The chip is a blue RHC with two edge inserts, one yellow and the other I am going to call a light maroon. The centre inlay is white with a Caucasian nude lady on her knees. I wonder what old Larry is trying to sell here?!? The casino name is black with a red heart between "Lucky" and "Lady" and the denomination is in red.

In August I am making a trip through Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and possibly Vermont.
I am confused about Mass. Casino world directory is listing casinos but MOGH does not and I do not see any chips on the index of this thread. I know there are some planned. Does anyone know if there are any chips to pick up?

Massachusetts has nothing to collect. Wynn isn't opening any time soon, MGM Springfield is opening in 2018 I think and Mashapee tribe casino is stuck in courts and may never be built.

thank you, that is what I thought but was hoping I missed something. Gonna drive all the way up to Banghor Maine just for that damn casino. Wife now wants to drag me to a bunch of Stephen King locations. We are going to the Maine Lobster Festival so it is only 90 minutes north of that so at least it is not too bad.

Well, it seems that PokerGrinders' post of a chip from the Lucky Lady casino in Gardenia Gardena is a very timely example of a chip for which we need to indicate the casino's city in the index, as we just discussed the previous day. Turns out there had been a chip from a different Lucky Lady casino in San Diego posted by rdw4potus back in 2013.

I think the lawyers for the San Diego Lucky Lady sent Larry a letter which resulted in him changing the "legal" name to "Larry Flynt's Lucky Lady". I'll try to find something official to back that up.

Today's chip of the day is from the second of two casinos in Wyoming, Shoshone Rose Casino in Lander, WY. I visited here as my last new casino of my trip. I arrived through a small snowstorm and played VP for about a hour while I waited for the BJ table to open. I lost around $15 playing quarters and won a quick $35ish on BJ. I was up around $20 all together. The casino has 400 slot machines and 5 table games. This casino is only about 20 miles from the other one that I visited in Wyoming 3 years ago. I didn't know this one existed back then so I visited Wind River and continued south. Oops!
The chip is a white Chipco with 3 pairs of light blue edge inserts. The centre inlay is shaded grey with the denomination in yellow and the casino name and location in black around the inlay. The Chipco logo is on the middle left of the inlay. There is a multi coloured rose (very psychedelic) inside of a blue patterned square inside of blue circle. I am not sure exactly what they are going for as their logo is just a standard red rose usually.

Today's chip of the day is from a new state that hasn't been previously covered in this thread. The chip is from the Queen of Hearts Card Club in the Crystal Casino. I visited this card club on my way south for spring fling. If I remember correctly I played 3-6 limit (boring game) and lost $65. They comp you your first drink of the night but you have to pay after that. The club had just got their new chips which I was able to collect. The poker "room" (more like area of tiny casino) had 2 poker tables. The other game was a big Omaha game I believe. The players at the table were quite friendly, I played about a hour before visiting one other poker room before bed.
The chip is a purple RHC with 4 edge inserts, 2 army green and 2 pink. The centre inlay is yellow with a black top hat and a red rose. The denomination is in red. They don't list the casino name or location. I was told the old chips did have Queen of Hearts Card Club on them.
Tomorrow I will show you the cheapest and ugliest chip in my collection!

I just finished planning the chip collecting after the poker series I am going to in September and I will be collecting 50 chips overall and 42 new ones to the thread. I will be adding a lot to my Washington collection which is pretty tiny at the moment.

So, should I thank you for another great addition to the thread or maybe make some snide quip about the extra work it takes for me to update the index? I mean there's the steps (1) to create the block for a new category, (2) adding there the link to this chip post, (3) editing post#1 for the count of total chips in the thread, and (4) also editing post #1 where it lists the sequence in which the categories were started. I'm a lazy geezer, and all that can wear me out. (Whine, whine, whine ....)

I know I missed yesterday's post but I wanted to keep you all waiting for the ugliest chip in my collection to build the anticipation. In reality I didn't get home from the poker game until 7:30 am and had already missed my chance for a Wednesday post. So...
Today's chip of the day is from The Poker Parlor at Gold Dust Casino in Billings, MT. This is the other little poker room in town, they have two tables. The run a 3/6 limit game and a 5/5 PLO game if I remember correctly. I played for about a hour before heading back to the hotel to sleep after driving for 12 hours that day. I lost $59 in the game but they had a free dinner and snacks so that was good. They served shepherd's pie, they also had cookies and little bags of chips for the players. Attached to the poker room was a small bar with slot machines.
The chip is a white dice design poker chip with 6 blue edge inserts. The front of the poker chip has "The Poker Parlor" hot stamped in gold on it and the back has "$1" hot stamped on it. These chips are about as cheap as they get, they are chips that you would find in friendly home games. I searched this chip on amazon and found that you can buy 50 for $4.49. They really splurged didn't they?
I promise tomorrow's chip will be much nicer as I head back to Nevada for the chip of the day.

For today's chip of the day we head back to Northern Nevada. The chip is from the Scoreboard Casino. The casino recently (late last year) added BJ tables (3 of them) back into it's casino. The casino opened in 1996 and they had chips listed as being made in 1997 in the chip guide but I am not sure as to the year that they took out the tables. The chip I collected is from the set that they bought for the reopening of the tables. Elko, NV where I stayed for the night is 7 miles from Spring Creek.
I played BJ at the only table that they had open when I was there around midnight on a Thursday night. When I got there a 40 something couple were drinking and playing. They were quite lubricated and very kind, enjoyable to schmooze with. The game was DD but I can't seem to remember if it was dealt face up or pitched, either way it was dealt from the dealers hand. I cashed out up $25 ($5 minimum table) after 40 minutes or so. I then made the terrible drive through a small snowstorm back to Elko. The blowing snow wouldn't have been a problem but the tiny little highway had no lights on it so the only light was coming from the cars. I don't usually have trouble with driving in snow but I was white knuckling it for a few minutes until I reached a better lit part of the highway.
The chip is a white RHC with three bright orange edge inserts. The centre inlay is green with the casino name and location in yellow and the denomination in white. The middle of the chip has a scoreboard that reads:

For today's chip of the day we head back to Northern Nevada. The chip is from the Scoreboard Casino. The casino recently (late last year) added BJ tables (3 of them) back into it's casino. The casino opened in 1996 and they had chips listed as being made in 1997 in the chip guide but I am not sure as to the year that they took out the tables. The chip I collected is from the set that they bought for the reopening of the tables. Elko, NV where I stayed for the night is 7 miles from Spring Creek.
I played BJ at the only table that they had open when I was there around midnight on a Thursday night. When I got there a 40 something couple were drinking and playing. They were quite lubricated and very kind, enjoyable to schmooze with. The game was DD but I can't seem to remember if it was dealt face up or pitched, either way it was dealt from the dealers hand. I cashed out up $25 ($5 minimum table) after 40 minutes or so. I then made the terrible drive through a small snowstorm back to Elko. The blowing snow wouldn't have been a problem but the tiny little highway had no lights on it so the only light was coming from the cars. 99 to 0? That's not very welcoming... hehe. In areas where drivers may face snowy conditions and no streetlights, how are you supposed to know where the edge of the road is? Are there fiberglass poles with reflectors on them? The last time I was in conditions like that was in the mountains, but I was following another car and staying in their sometimes wobbly tracks. I'm just glad they didn't drive off a cliff, as I would have ended up right on top of them.
