Today's chip of the day is from Orange City Card Club in Orange City, Florida. Orange City Card Club opened on 3/1/2017 and has a mixture of table and poker games. I was in a crunch for time when I stopped here so I played Face Up Pai Gow for about 20 minutes and won $100. I don't know why but I much prefer Face Up over normal Pai Gow so I am happy to see it taking off over the last few years in more regions. I had a very fun dealer who was rooting for all the players to win which is a great strategy in a tipped position. I will never understand the surly dealer, catch more bees with honey as they say.

The chip is blue with 3 large white and 3 small blue edge inserts. The centre inlay is a picture of the card club with the denom at the top and bottom of the inlay in white and the card club's name in orange and black. The reverse side of the chip has a blue centre inlay with 4 blue silhouettes of racing dogs. The four suits are in the middle of the inlay with card club name the same as the front. The denom is only at the top of the inlay as the bottom is where they list the card club's website. If you zoom in on the picture of the chip you can see that the chip edges are quite chewed up and this was by far the nicest of the chips I saw. The chips are made of a hard plastic and it looks some was grinding them against a wood chipper lol. Not sure what causes this type of damage.

Today's chip of the day is from Pensacola Greyhound Track in Pensacola, Florida. This is going to be very short because I can't find any info on the opening of the facility, their exact offerings or ever being at this poker room. So without further or do... actually that is all.

The chip is a white textured chip with 2 blue edge inserts and a blue circle around the rim of the chip. The racetrack name, location and chip denom are all blue with a blue racing dog with a yellow racing jacket.

By the way I clean all my chips when I collect them but due to being on the road for most of this year I haven't found the time to clean the chips so these are all "fresh" from the wild.

I was out of town in Victoria, BC for 3 days and decided to leave my laptop at home which is why I didn’t post a chip of the day. I’ll be home later today and I will post a chip.

Casino: Oxford Downs

Today's chip of the day is from Oxford Downs in Summerfield, Florida. Oxford Downs opened on 5/24/2016 and offers both poker and house banked table games. If my memory serves me right I actually played Casino War at this property due to time constraints. Interesting note, they are only allowed to offer house banked poker games so instead of calling it Casino War they call it one card poker which is pretty funny if you ask me.

The chip is grey with two darker grey edge inserts. The centre inlay is a very light grey with a yellow ring around it. The Oxford Downs logo is black and gold and has a horse coming out of the top of it. There are a bunch of smaller Oxford Downs logos faded into the background of the inlay. The location and denom are in black at bottom of the inlay. The other side of the chip has a white rectangle going through the middle of the inlay with the denom. Above the white portion is a gold and white horse and below the white is the full name of the facility and the location. The faded logo is in the background of the inlay on this side of the chip as well.

Today's chip of the day is from One Eyed Jacks Poker Room in the Sarasota Kennel Club in Sarasota, Florida. I found a lot of unhelpful information as to the origins and current poker room. I went to this kennel club only to find it closed with a sign telling me the new address. Problem with that was I had no data and couldn't find any wifi. I ended up stopping at a 7-11 where the worker was very kind and showed me on my google maps how to get there and also didn't charge me for my ice cream sandwich either. I found the new location without too much trouble and found a Face Up Pai Gow table to play a few hands and collect a chip. I am assuming that the poker room attached to a race track law has changed because the new location clearly had no racetrack.

The chip is blue RHC with two edge inserts in blue and purple. The oversized inlay is purple/white with a big white dog with an eye patch and a scarf tjat says "One Eyed Jacks". The denom is white and the track name and location is in yellow.

Casino: Tropical Breeze

Today's chip of the day is from the Tropical Breeze Day Cruise in Port Richey, Florida. This cruise ship formerly went by the Port Richey name that wezvidz posted about back in June, 2014. This casino boat was much smaller than the Victory Cruise that I had gone on a few weeks prior, The second floor had 3 BJ, 1 roulette and 1 UTH game available and a craps table that was not in service. The main deck of the boat had 30-40 slot machines and a small bar while the top level of the boat had tables to eat at and a place for musical entertainment. My friend and I paid $10 each to get on the cruise and it lasted for 4 or 5 hours which was too long for such a small boat. The table limits were small but we were betting more than anyone on the boat which wasn't hard. We were only betting $25-$50 a hand and having drinks as quick as they would bring them. A couple hours into the cruise we made our way to the main floor bar where you can order food. We ordered meals and some apps and drinks when the bartender told us that we were being comped by the owner of the boat. Your action really does go farther depending on where you play. Anyways despite the fact that we were trapped on the boat for too long we had fun and I was able to collect a new (old looking) chip.

The chip is a disaster! Sadly the picture I posted is totally in focus and that is just the horrible quality chip that I was able to get. I am honestly not sure if the chip was white at some point but now it is slightly yellow with 4 grey edge inserts. The centre inlay is a sunset on a beach with a palm tree that doubles as the "T" in Tropical Breeze. The cruise's name is green and the denom is white.
