I didnít realize there was a special format for posting pictures of chips. Youíre saying an accompanying story is required...something beyond ďI visited the casino listed on the chipĒ ?

For someone who has been around the forum for several years and who has started 23 threads of his own, it is just a tad surprising to me that you are not aware of what we have been doing in this thread for the past nine years. Yes, there is a somewhat-standard format for the chip-of-the-day posts, though we are no longer able to keep posting them on a daily basis. We begin each of the "official" posts with a header that includes the category (most of which are geographical regions), the location of the casino (city and state/province/country), and the name of the casino.

After that, we appreciate it very much if the poster will tell us a bit about the casino and their experiences there. Sometimes folks are able to offer us a photo of the casino itself. Next, if relevant, they might tell us something about the chip, perhaps something that we cannot immediately see by looking at it, such as the manufacturer or when that particular chip was issued and such. Then, we want to see a good image of the chip. If the chip is different on the two sides, it is nice to have an image of both. Since many chips have hidden images revealed only by UV light, some contributors offer such photos of the chip so we can see what is hidden.

Each chip-of-the-day post is different, and this leads to many of our interesting discussions. I maintain an index of the chips on the first page of this thread, so you can go there, pick out a casino that might interest you, then click on it to see the chip, what the contributor had to say about it, and how others responded to that post. Since you posted a chip from the Casino de Monte-Carlo, you might start by going to the page 1 index, scrolling down toward the bottom to the Europe category, clicking on that casino's name, and reading what I had to say about it way back then. That should give you an idea of what we try to do in this thread. Please let me know of any questions you may have.

Yes Iíve seen this thread but, like the majority of threads unrelated to math, I never took a close look at it. Thanks for setting me straight...for my next photo Iíll try to adhere to the regulations. Maybe you can even proofread it before I post

Country: Colombia
City: Bogotá
Casino: Faraones

This is the only chip I have where I don't remember anything about it! At least the chip says it's from Bogotá Colombia so I tried google mapping it. There are 2 casino Faraones in Bogotá, one in the Chapinero district and one in Fontibon. I'm certain I did not travel out to Fontibon so it had to have been from Chapinero. Besides, looking at google street view of the one in Fontibon doesn't appear to me to have table games. Too bad I didn't keep good notes about where I obtained this chip. Chances are it has closed already because there's barely any info about it online.

I CD-ROM.

And with this chip from the Faraones casino in Bogota, we now have reached a total of 1,300 casinos described in "official" Casino Chip of the Day posts. A new tier marker for the thread index! Thanks, Konbu.
