The chip collecting fever has worn off for me but if I know there is a casino near where I'm visiting, I will still try to go and visit/collect.
Also looks like no one has posted Twin Lion and Casino Majestic both from Guadalajara Mexico, so I still got a chance to post it *grin*
Finally, many thanks to Doc for still putting his effort and energy into this thread. May there be many more contributions to come.
Annie Oakleys Casino - Central City, CO
Silver Slipper Casino - Central City, CO
They had a couple of each.

So when do we get to see your Twin Lion and Casino Majestic chips? ;-)
City: Guadalajara
Casino: Twin Lions
Twin Lions Casino is located in Guadalajara, Mexico, which is the second largest city in Mexico. The city itself has a population of approximately 1.4 million while the metropolitan area is 5 million plus.
I visited this city in December 2019, after arriving from Puerto Vallarta on a 4-5 hour bus ride. The bus was one of those with only 3 seat across, in a 2-1 configuration. The seats were like flying business class, very comfortable. The bus company is ETN, and tickets were around $20USD.
The first floor of this casino was all machines. The second floor is maybe only 1/4 the floor space of the first. It has windows overlooking the floor below. There were about 15 tables from what I remember, with 1 craps table, blackjack, roulette, and maybe other games I don't remember.
I remember only playing craps, with I think either 20 or 50 pesos minimum and double odds. Don't remember if I won or lost either, only that all the stickman calls and bets were in Spanish. They have stools at the craps table. They don't handle cash at the tables, you have to go to the cage and put money into a card, and give that card at the table to get chips. I probably bought in for like $2000 pesos and had stacks of black chips so it's pretty cool.
The chip itself is the same on both sides. Looks like a Matsui chip.

City: Guadalajara
Casino: Majestic
Majestic Casino is located in Guadalajara, Mexico. I visited this city in December 2019. This casino was a bit special in that it's underground. The entrance is kind of in the middle of a big traffic circle and once you go past the metal detector you can walk or take the elevator 2 to 3 floors underground. I don't remember much about this place, other than they don't handle cash at the tables either. There were a few lone blackjack tables that were away from the smoking allowed main pit, which has maybe 15-20 tables.
The chip is same on both sides. Note the low denomination of 5 pesos. I must have collected it playing either blackjack or paigow poker.
Turns out I also have Casino New York and Casino Faraones from Bogota, Colombia, but I don't remember anything at all about Faraones for some reason! I will do a short write up for both soon.
City: Bogotá
Casino: New York
https://canele.net/casinos-new-york/
Casino New York has multiple locations in Bogota. My chip was collected at the one inside the Calima Mall, which is also the only location with table games per their website. Calima mall is an upscale mall in Bogota. I can imagine the husband coming in for some gambling while the wife goes shopping. OK OK sorry I'm stereotyping... The wife can gamble too... There are casinos inside other nice malls in Bogota but I didn't visit.
Anyway, the casino isn't that big. There's probably 100-200 machines and 6-8 tables if my memory is correct. According to their website it has blackjack, roulette, a poker room, and "bonus poker," which I think is UTH. I only started playing UTH in the last 6 months or so and getting hooked on it, such a roller coaster.
The chip I kept is a $5000 pesos red chip, which is worth about $1.50USD back in September 2019 exchange rates $1USD~$3400COP. I think the rates now are around 1~3800. I bought in for either $50k or $100k and played a whole shoe of blackjack for very small stakes, and left a winner. I found a photo in my google photos evidencing my win of either $30k or 80k. I must have been impressed by the $50000 brown chips to take the photo!
Not sure if this is related to my small number of posts, but I don't even see where I can add a new comment, so I am replying to this one.
I responded to your PM regarding the missing chip images, but apparently I don't have enough posts to be eligible to use the new image feature.
My records indicate that you made two posts that were "official" chip-of-the-day posts, one for the Claridge and one for the Sands, both in New Jersey. Those are both now gone from the thread. Do you still have those chips or at least have the images that you posted before? If so, we definitely need to pursue this further. You also posted photos that you had taken of the Sands and Claridge casinos (not just the chips), and those are gone, too.
There were four other NJ casinos that had already been covered in the thread, but you posted images of different chips than we had seen before, images that are also missing. Do you still have any of this stuff available? I'd really prefer to see those photos instead of what we can see now.
Your first image appears to be the same chip type that I posted back in 2013 from the Casino de Monte-Carlo, but I don't think we have previously seen a chip from a Casino Marbella. I assume this is the one in Malaga, right? If you would like to tell us about that casino and your chip, please edit your post above to use the format we have adopted for the official Casino Chip of the Day posts, and I will then add that post to the thread index. I look forward to reading what you have to offer! (BTW, I think the image posting utility has a function for rotating the images, but I haven't yet tried it myself.)
Quote: Ace2I didn’t realize there was a special format for posting pictures of chips. You’re saying an accompanying story is required...something beyond “I visited the casino listed on the chip” ?
For someone who has been around the forum for several years and who has started 23 threads of his own, it is just a tad surprising to me that you are not aware of what we have been doing in this thread for the past nine years. Yes, there is a somewhat-standard format for the chip-of-the-day posts, though we are no longer able to keep posting them on a daily basis. We begin each of the "official" posts with a header that includes the category (most of which are geographical regions), the location of the casino (city and state/province/country), and the name of the casino.
After that, we appreciate it very much if the poster will tell us a bit about the casino and their experiences there. Sometimes folks are able to offer us a photo of the casino itself. Next, if relevant, they might tell us something about the chip, perhaps something that we cannot immediately see by looking at it, such as the manufacturer or when that particular chip was issued and such. Then, we want to see a good image of the chip. If the chip is different on the two sides, it is nice to have an image of both. Since many chips have hidden images revealed only by UV light, some contributors offer such photos of the chip so we can see what is hidden.
Each chip-of-the-day post is different, and this leads to many of our interesting discussions. I maintain an index of the chips on the first page of this thread, so you can go there, pick out a casino that might interest you, then click on it to see the chip, what the contributor had to say about it, and how others responded to that post. Since you posted a chip from the Casino de Monte-Carlo, you might start by going to the page 1 index, scrolling down toward the bottom to the Europe category, clicking on that casino's name, and reading what I had to say about it way back then. That should give you an idea of what we try to do in this thread. Please let me know of any questions you may have.
City: Bogotá
Casino: Faraones
This is the only chip I have where I don't remember anything about it! At least the chip says it's from Bogotá Colombia so I tried google mapping it. There are 2 casino Faraones in Bogotá, one in the Chapinero district and one in Fontibon. I'm certain I did not travel out to Fontibon so it had to have been from Chapinero. Besides, looking at google street view of the one in Fontibon doesn't appear to me to have table games. Too bad I didn't keep good notes about where I obtained this chip. Chances are it has closed already because there's barely any info about it online.
Tit for tat, couple questions:
1) Vegas trip next month and I'll be grabbing a chip from Circa, Resorts World. Park MGM and Oyo (former Hooters) have chips as well right? I think those 4 are the only new ones in Vegas in the last 2 years right?
2) Trip to Denver next month, are there any new casinos in Black Hawk the past couple years? I did a big chip collecting trip in 2014 or so and I'm not sure if it's worth a drive out for anything.
Thanks ya'll. Glad to see this thread still cookin'.
Update: I'm confused. I checked the list a few pages back of broken images and this one was listed. Can anyone else confirm it's broken? For me it works..
As far as Vegas if you have park mgm then the only other one you need is The Pass which is the former Eldorado in Henderson.

First, with regard to your referenced post with the image of the chip from the Monarch in Colorado, I guess I may be confused, too. It definitely was on the list of non-functioning images that I prepared back in April, but it seems to be a Photobucket image that is (now) working just fine. I checked other posts where your images were missing in April and found them to be working as well. Have/had you already made a change in your Photobucket subscription?
Second, if you haven't already done so, you might NOT want to go to the expense of paying for a Photobucket account just to support this thread, particularly if you have your chip images saved on your computer or elsewhere. The forum now supports hosting of images without charge via the "insert my picture" button when entering/editing a post. I think you could just edit each of the posts with missing/defective images, delete the Photobucket link, and insert the appropriate image with the new forum feature.
My guess is that you have already paid Photobucket, and that is why things are working. Unless you have other uses for Photobucket other than Chip-of-the-Day posts, I recommend that you not make more payments to them. If you haven't saved the images elsewhere, download them from Photobucket now, while they are available, and post them with the insert-my-picture feature rather than a Photobucket link.

Monarch (Black Hawk, CO) white $1, right? I can see it.
Quote: PokerGrinderReserve casino is now grand z and the golden casinos (Mardi Gras, golden gulch and golden gate) are now Bally’s north, east and west. North and west have chips available.

THANKS! Saved me a week of trying to dig all this up via Google.
As for Photobucket, I paid for their beginner package but their website implied you couldn't link images on messageboards with the most basic package. Guess they're wrong or trying to get more $. Appreciate the advice.
I can’t get the WoV pictures working so I’m still using imgur. It keeps turning them sideways lol.

Casino: OYO
Today’s chip of the day is from Oyo Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Oyo is the former Hooters casino which closed in September 16, 2019 to become Oyo. I picked this chip up in January and honestly the only thing they changed about the casino is the name. Heck even the Hooters restaurant is still there. The tables are in the same spot, slot layout is the same and the cage still is unmanned half the time.
The chip is a white LCV Paulson with two edge inserts, one olive and one brown. The centre inlay is black with a gold rim and the Oyo logo in gold with white steaks. The denomination and location are in the same gold/white writing.
Quote: DocThanks for this post, PG, it's been too long between chips of the day! I listed this chip in the thread index as "OYO" instead of "Oyo" as you had it shown, since they seem to use all caps on their web site and everywhere else I have seen it listed.
Works for me, I have A LOT of chips to post I’ve just been busy with stuff. I haven’t looked through the chip index yet but I think I’ll have about 50-60 to post minimum.
City: Las Vegas
Casino: The Strat
Today's chip of the day is from The Strat Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Stratosphere Casino changed it's name to The Strat in August, 2019. It seems to me that they did this along with the renovation to attract the younger "IT" crowd, I have no idea if it is working but both times I have been there since the name change it was busy. The problem to me is never going to be what they offer or how "cool" it is, the problem is they are in the shady part of the strip and nobody wants to go there because of the neighbourhood.
I usually only collect $1 chips when available but I loved the design of the $5 chip so I kept one as well. For some reason the $1 chips are a different design than all the chips $5 and above. The $1 chip is a blue Paulson SCV with two white edge inserts. The centre inlay is white with the casino name in blue with white lines through it. The casino name and chip denomination are both black. The $5 Paulson chip is red with 3 edge inserts in brown, pink and blue. Between the edge inserts and the centre inlay is a section of red plastic with gold crackling which makes for a beautiful chip. The centre inlay is the exact same as the $1 chip.
It has now been 16 months since I have collected a new chip and about that long since I have been more than 30 miles outside of my home state. I'm a bit jealous of your travel plans and history. Do you anticipate travel restrictions on your visit to Europe? I suppose Canadians may experience things differently from Americans these days on the world stage.
Quote: DocAgain, I am indexing this latest CCotD as "STRAT" instead of "Strat" because they seem to be emphasizing that.

Restrictions in Europe for vaccinated Canadians are very minor. I can go to most countries now.
City: Henderson
Casino: The Pass
Today's chip of the day is from The Pass Casino in Henderson, Nevada. Eldorado Casino closed on March 20, 2019 with no plans to reopen. A year later the owners of Railroad Pass bought Eldorado Casino with plans to rebrand it The Pass. The Pass Casino opened on April 1 of this year. I have no idea if the casino got a makeover (I assume it did) since I collected my chip from Eldorado in July, 2013. The casino is small but has a nice interior with a decent size table games pit, small sportsbook and 360 slot machines.
The chip is a white Icon with two baby blue edge inserts. The "centre inlay" is varying shades of yellow with a white star in the middle. The middle of the white star has the casino logo which is a black star with the casino name also in black. The denomination and location are in black under the logo. On the right side of the chip you can see a faint Icon logo.
City: Las Vegas
Casino: Circa
Today's chip of the day is from Circa Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Circa was built on the site of the Las Vegas Club Casino and opened on 10/28/2020. Circa is huge and easily the nicest casino on Fremont street, in fact it sticks out like a sore thumb. The casino has 1350 slot machines and 55 table games. There are no low limit tables so I had to play $25 BJ to get my chip. The sportsbook is billed as the largest sportsbook in the world, I actually found the screens too big and bright as we watched the basketball game. Overall I would say that the casino is nicer than 80% of the casinos on the strip.
The chip is white Paulson RHC with 3 lime green edge inserts. The oversized inlay is the colour of and looks like a basketball hardwood floor. The casino name, location and chip denom are all listed in black. On the chip is Vegas Vickie who was originally apart of Glitter Gulch which was also torn down to build Circa. The neon Vegas Vickie sign is inside of the Circa Casino.
As far as the case/display Milly I haven’t set anything up yet. A mixture of laziness and the fact that I work away from home 6-9 months a year.
City: Las Vegas
Casino: Sahara
Today's chip of the day is from the Sahara Casino which is the former SLS which was the former Sahara, fun right? The original Sahara close May 16, 2011 and sat dormant until SLS bought it and rebranded it. SLS opened August 23, 2014 and would no longer be known as SLS after September 30, 2019. The next day the casino opened as Sahara and they started the rebranding while the casino was in operation.
I stopped into Sahara the same night that I walked, yes walked to The Strat from Caesars. I played some BJ with some old ladies to get my chip. The casino has 710 slot machines and Casinocity says they have 70 table games which seems insane cause I don't remember anywhere near that many.
The chip is blue with two pink edge inserts and the casino name etched into the chip twice. I say this every time I post a chip with it but I think this is one of the classiest ways to spruce up a chip. The centre inlay is also blue with the casino name and location in black and the denomination in white. There is a small Paulson Hat and Cane logo to the right of the denom.
For some time, I have pondered just how I would handle the "Sahara vs. Sahara" issue in my own collection (and the display I have shared in this thread many times.) Now that PG has posted the new Sahara chip, I was faced with the issue of how to make the distinction in the thread's index of chips. Didn't turn out to be much of an issue there -- hope my solution is suitable to all.Quote: PokerGrinderThey are different than the original Sahara but ....
City: Las Vegas
Casino: Mohegan Sun
Today's chip of the day is from Mohegan Sun Casino inside the Virgin Hotel. Mohegan Sun Casino is in the former Hard Rock Casino which closed on February 3, 2020 just before the pandemic. If I am remembering correctly they originally were only going to close for 8 months to remodel but ended up being closed for 13 months because of the pandemic until March 5, 2021. The casino and hotel is owned my Virgin and the casino is contracted out to the Mohegan Tribe that own the casino in Connecticut. I wasn't very impressed by the casino and their 650 slot machines and 65 table games. Same thing as yesterday, I don't remember there being anywhere near 65 tables.
The chip is a plain blue Paulson RHC with no edge inserts. The centre inlay has a gold hot stamp of the casino name, logo, location and the chip denomination. The higher value chips are much nicer and not hot stamped. I don't understand why they decided to go cheap on the $1 chips, it just seems silly to me.
This is my last new chip from Nevada as I haven't had a chance to go to Resorts World, they opened a few days after I left. I will start on a new state tomorrow.
Also because of how good work is going right now I’ve decided to postpone my Euro trip I think (haven’t officially canceled my flight). An unforeseen thing happened that is directly causing my income to go up 25% a day which is too much to not take advantage of. If anyone is confused yes my job is gambling related.
City: Cass Lake
Casino: Cedar Lakes
Today's chip of the day (or week depending how lazy I am) is from Cedar Lakes Casino in Cass Lake, Minnesota. This is a sort of rename but not really. The Palace Casino was located at 6280 Upper Cass Frontage Road and was torn down by the owners for the new Cedar Lakes Casino at 6268 Upper Cass Frontage Road. Cedar Lakes Casino has 650 slots and 6 table games. I picked up my car that I had shipped across the closed border in Grand Forks and headed to this sort of renamed casino. I had a plan to continue onto another casino that day but got there exhausted so I stayed at their very nice hotel for the night. I made some money picking off a few plays on the slots and then played a few hands of BJ when it opened later that night before crashing for the night.
The chip is I believe a white ceramic with 8 purple edge inserts and 4 purple squares between each set of chips. The centre inlay is I assume Cass Lake with a sunset. The casino name is half in turquoise and half grey. The chip denom is white.
