Quote: AyecarumbaThanks PG! Doc is certainly not the yelling type. I am not even sure he has a caps lock... hehe
I went back and added a header. I wasn't sure where to put the CNY info. If Doc let's me know, I am happy to move it around (or remove it altogether).
True he probably removes the cap lock every time he buys a new keyboard.
Oh.... Ooops. Nevermind.

Well, as a way of acknowledging this contribution, I have edited my next post after Miplet posted his 50¢ chip (3 posts down) to provide a link to your post and chip above.
Doc nice to see you have put away the profanity after a good sleep :)
Doc's profanity is a 'leap year' thing I've heard. The graphic on the new chip? Beats me. I tried expanding it, and it just looks like the head of a big bug ( think alien) that is coming to eat me. Purty sure I got that wrong, but I did try....Quote: PokerGrinderKonbu I like that chip, it's cool how the graphic is faded on purpose. It sort of reminds me of my chip from the Reserve casino in Colorado. What is the graphic of? I can't make it out on my iPhone.

My first impression was a bird with a long beak.
Quote: rdw4potusOklahoma OR Louisiana? Once you've put in the time to drive down from Canada, might as well do both:-)
I was working on the logistics of my Oklahoma collecting trip and remembered this post. Geez did you really have to put this thought in my head? I was playing around with Google Maps and routing this and it makes sense. This insanity when it happens will be solely your fault rdw!

If I remember correctly you were also responsible for the Kansas casinos being added to one of Doc's trips which Mrs Doc promised to get back at you for.
Oh, I see now, nice trick.
I will not tell a soul.....
But I call you 'Rascal'.....;-)
I am not scared of Doc, at least not in non-leap years. Mrs Doc is an unknown and possibly powerful entity. Nuf said....Quote: PokerGrinderIf I remember correctly you were also responsible for the Kansas casinos being added to one of Doc's trips which Mrs Doc promised to get back at you for.
Quote: mipletAll of this talk of planing these trips reminds me of how lazy I am. I still don't have a chip from a card room less than a mile from me. I might get there soon as they just got DJ Wild and I want to check it out.
The Crazy Moose has been covered, but the Red Dragon hasn't.
I've added relevant labels to the map. As you can see, The Crazy Moose is a lot closer and has Ultimate Texas Hold'em. Further down the road (actually a steep hill) is 220th St. Bingo. Bingo has been one of my favorite gambling activities. I started playing in 2002 (I was 23 years old).Quote: AyecarumbaThe Crazy Moose has been covered, but the Red Dragon hasn't.

Adding the rest of the Louisiana chips to the Oklahoma trip along with Oaklawn Gaming only adds about 3 more days to the trip, not terrible. Smart idea time wise rdw but my sanity might take a hit half way through this one :)

Bringing back "good" memories for me.
Aren't those both Washington Gold chains? I was flat-bet at Red Dragon, and I thought I was made at all Washington Gold casinos. They would remind me "no blackjack" as I walked up to the table at Club Hollywood, which was my first "home" casino and where I refined a lot of my skills.
Never backed off at Crazy Moose, but I was crazy to be playing their crappy 8 deck, $100 max game. I once lost a few big bets (I think I was spreading to 2 hands of $75) at the end of a session to end about $300 down. The dealer was very much aware what I was doing and was enjoying himself. He had some mean-spirited words about even if you're counting it doesn't guarantee a win or something like that. A fact I am WELL aware of :). I don't think I ever won there in a a few visits; maybe if I had they would have done something.
Yes they are Washington Gold chains. I'm no AP, so the $100 max didn't bother me. One time a player wanted them to raise the max to $300. They went and got the $25-300 sign out and grandfathered us in at the $3 min.Quote: AcesAndEightsBringing back "good" memories for me.

This is another one that was a complete blur. I probably picked it up on the way to Vancouver. The website makes no mention of craps, so in that case I most likely bought in at roulette for $11 or $21 and put it all on one outside bet.
The business is owned by the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe. I did not see any interesting info about the tribe in google. As for the Skagit Valley area there is a Tulip festival in April. If anyone is planning a trip to the area April may be a good time to go see some tulips.
As for the chip, there's no name or city, only their logo.
Cool addition to the thread Konbu!

They do have craps; I have played it.
Anyone/everyone, please let me know of other such index omissions that you notice beyond a day or three after the chip is posted. Sometimes, when I am either lazy or traveling, I don't get around to updating the index right away. It is way too difficult to edit those posts on my phone. We now have 914 chips included in the index, and an unknown number that slipped by unrecorded.
City: Tulalip
Casino: Quil Ceda Creek Casino
My impression of this place is blurry as well, but I do remember the copious amount of smoke. I was in and out in 10 minutes but still reeked of cigarettes when I got out. You know how there are deep sea creatures that live off of the sulfur and heat vents in the sea floor? Well, any creatures that survive on nicotine/tar/cigarette fume will thrive and prosper here. I have vague memories of letting my $10 column bet ride twice for a nice $80 win (minus $10 tip) but I could have just been hallucinating, I really don't remember.
This business is near Tulalip Casino, and are both owned by the Tulalip Tribes.
As for the chip, there's some small splotches in the charcoal background, but does not appear to be any specific graphic or design.

I always thought that place was just Bingo. Played at the main Tulalip casino a bunch of times, but never Quil Ceda Creek.

Casino: Muckleshoot II Casino
The last chip I'm presenting is the one I remember the most about. Perhaps it was because I drove there on the night before my flight home, and it was raining really hard and made for a treacherous 20 mile drive. Or maybe it was the walmart-like atmosphere of the place. Going into the casino from the garage, there's a wide path/ramp that slopes down toward the casino. It felt like walking onto a river boat casino. Once inside, there are 6 long rows of table games, to include 6 or 8 craps tables. Their website states they have over 70 tables and 32 poker tables. It is also NON SMOKING!
As for the chip, there's Mt. Rainier in the center inside a dreamcatcher. I don't know why the name is Muckleshoot "II". The website states the casino was opened in 1995. Perhaps they expanded? But they make no mention of it. Maybe someone knows.
This is all I have for now. I also collected from Tulalip from WA, and Starlight, Fraser Downs, and River Rock from BC, which have already been covered. Fraser Down was doing remodeling when I was there in November. Starlight had a little posh feel to it with the red color. River Rock felt airy with the high ceiling, and the craps table was also lively with $5 CAD minimum which was right up my alley. The dimsum restaurant next to it, Sea Harbour, was excellent. It was as good if not better than the good ones in the San Francisco bay area.
Their website makes no mention of being called Muckleshoot II, it just says Muckleshoot Casino. Did you notice if they had the old chips in play as well?
Quote: KonbuIt is also NON SMOKING!

I have never been to any of the Washington casinos, so I just took a look at Google Maps and other info on the web after reading these posts.
It seems that the casino has both smoking and non-smoking areas for both machines and tables, as shown here. Could it be that it was originally just one way or the other and then added a separate gaming area, perhaps initially called Muckleshoot II or something like that? They do have a Bingo casino almost directly across the street.
Edit: Here is a link to a CasinoCity.com page that quotes a Seattle Post Intelligencer article about the non-smoking casino opening in 2006. No discussion about the casino name possibly including a "II".
Wow this must mean I did not even see the whole casino (the smoking table game section)
Quote: KonbuI don't think I have. I played craps there for 2~3 hours and would have noticed as I like to go through the chips continually in search of the perfect specimen.

Yeah I have played there and remembered heavy smoke. The casino is kind of divided into 2 sections with tables and machines in each section, so probably one is non-smoking and one is smoking. I must have found an open seat in the smoking section.
My enduring memory from this casino is the terrible blackjack counting conditions. It was mostly, maybe all 8 decks with 2 decks cut off and I think a max bet of $100 on some tables, probably up to $500 on some tables (which I think is the tribal max in WA). Also all the tables were crowded.
What?!!??! Why didn't someone tell me about this place before I drove up to Turning Stone last September?Quote: PokerGrinder... Yellow Brick Road Casino in Chittenango, NY. They added tables about a year or so ago.
Quote: GeoducknCrabThe Muckleshoot casino is my home casino. There are two separate areas. Smoking (original) and non-smoking (newer). They use two different sets of chips. You cannot cash the non-smoking chips in the smoking casino and vice versa. On weekends there are always twice as many people in the non-smoking section. On weekdays its about 50-50. When you look at the popularity of the non-smoking section you wonder why other casinos do not follow. Craps offers 3-4-5 odds with $5 minimum. BJ games are usually 8 deck shoe with max bet of $300. This place has a nice poker room with over 30 tables and lots of games including Omaha 8 hi/low.
That is very interesting, I have never come across that before. Do you know why they bother with two separate sets of chips for the same casino?

So Konbu will have to go back?
