Please, when doing links, use formatting codes.
Only takes a minute to learn and it makes it much easier.

I tried and it didn't work. I've formatted a hundred links
on this forum, for some reason it rejected this one. Maybe
it was my connection.

My, a bit touchy today.
Somebody needs to get laid.

See if you can get it to work, it just failed again.
Took thirty or so seconds.
And heck, you "challenged me" to do it, and I did.
"Thou shalt honor thy gambling debts."
Um... This worked just fine.Quote: EvenBobhttp://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2011/oct/06/wynn-las-vegas-wins-2-million-judgment-case-girls-/

Let's see if it works for me.
Quote: s2dbakerThey let the creep go free on the Criminal charge! So the Wynn is in the same position that they we're before. The guy still owes them 2 million bux but the difference is today, a court agrees with the Wynn.
Wynn's fault, though, they took too long to attempt to collect.
Had the sleazebag (Francis, in this instance) been convicted, the judge would have ordered restitution, and Francis almost certainly would pay, to keep out of prison.
Now, Wynn has a civil judgment only.
Not bad, but not nearly as powerful as a restitution order.
Let's see how creative Francis gets to avoid collection; e.g. disposing of assets, putting them in another's name, bankruptcy etc.
Then again, if he's a sitting duck he'll just have to pay it.

I just tried it and it worked. I tried 3 times last night. Go figure.

He can get in big trouble for hiding assets while the trial
was going on. Very easy to prove.
What, are they going to sue him?
He'd get in trouble if he lies during a judgment debtor exam, but until then he can shuffle the deck to his heart's content.
Quote: MrVDefine "very big trouble."
{Anything you do to remove your assets from the reach of your creditors after a lawsuit is filed is likely to be a "fraudulent conveyance." That means the courts can and will seek to obtain repossession from the transferee.}
Notice its after the suit is filed. Its right from the start
that they can still nab you after the verdict is in. In
some places its a criminal offense, especially when it
concerns real estate. They say its best to protect your
assets long before you see any trouble coming.

I thought that idiot was in jail?
If he tried that 30-40 years ago, he'd have some help 'disappearing' into the desert.
That requires that Wynn be able to prove fraudulent intent, and that he actually catch wind of what and where the asset is.
Tough to do if your opponent is crafty and "lawyered up."
Francis will most likely move his assets offshore, unless he wants to settle up.
By the way, don't ever forget use the terms corporation and company very carefully in the Bahamas and the Cayman Islands and other such havens. Often a Company in the Cayman Islands is impossible for the IRS to pierce but a Corporation there means the books are open for inspection.
