It seems that most casinos in Vegas won't rate your play unless you're betting at least $25.00 per hand on table games. Are there any casinos that will rate you at lower minimums?

Thanks!

Downtown spots except Golden Nugget might, the general rule of thumb is the further off strip you go the better gaming/ comps are since those casinos cater to locals.

I've been rated at the Gold Coast and the Orleans for playing $5 and $10 pass line/blackjack.

My rating and $1 will get you a free beer while playing. :)

(but it does generate enough for mailers and free room offers at those places...)

No, its the Top Tier or Big Name casinos on the Strip that pride themselves on not being able to see anything less than 25.00 on the table. If its a Locals casino, they are probably interested. If its a Downtown casino, they are probably going to be interested. If its an off-strip they may be interested because not everyone walks those long blocks from the strip to get to them.

If you get away from the glitz and glamor and go to some casino that when you tell your friends the name of the casino they all give you blank stares... then you are more likely to be at a place that will love your level of betting.

Sahara rated $5 a hand about 2 years ago, when I stayed there. A moderately small amount of $5 blackjack and $10 paigow got me a buffet comp and tons of free room mailers.

Dude,

I had the same experience, and I must offer my sympathy for the buffet. The only good thing I can say about the Sahara's buffet is that it closed.

The Sahara has history to it. Its present is rather dismal and some say its future is dismal too while others say its future is only short term. Somewhere... someone is probably making book on its closing date.

Its a place of one dollar gimmicks, blackjack with oodles of side bets, ... its not much more than what it pretends to be: a place that will treat you better than the Riviera but thats about all.

FWIW I always give my player card to the dealer and he always passes it to a floor person. I play $5 at most games, no pair+ (usually) in 3CP, full odds in craps with 1 or 2 come/don't come bets, and twice I played $10 PGP at Excalibur. So maybe I get rated, maybe not, but at my play level I expect little more than "have a nice day" from the dealer after I'm done playing.

The only time I didn't hand the card over was at the Wynn when I bought in at Rock and Roll Dice for $30. I figured I'd be done before they could even collect it, and so I was.

I'm a $10 player downtown and rarely pay for a room or a meal.
I do, however, bet green for the first few bets as the pit person is logging in my info into the computer.

Yeah, downtown players are valued more than on the strip. Those first few bets help. Sure the floor can downrate you but its good to start out with a good reputation.

Bet $25 at the 4 Queens or Fremont or Fitzgeralds and they'll treat you like a high roller.

Yeah, I think it was about two years ago someone organized a slumming party at some downtown casino that barely ever saw a Green chip. About fifteen people showed up in evening dress, most arrived by limousine, and they immediately started playing with Black chips.
Dealers were unfazed by it and actually had black chips in their trays anyway even though they would normally never be used. Waitresses were in good supply that night.

Its the pit that cares, not the dealers. The pit suits are there to make sure the dealers don't steal the house blind, and black chip players in a red chip casino makes the pit sweat bullets.

Yep, all the Harrah's establishments will. While they are considered evil, there's absolutely no minimums to earn points with them. I generally play PGP, slots, and some craps, and I get free rooms all the time at Planet Hollywood. Even betting a minimum of $10/hand at pai gow gets me points.

I appreciate all the input from everybody. Because of my play at the Horseshoe in Shreveport I'm always comped at Harrah's properties. When my wife and I go to Vegas we always stay at the Rio. It's comped and they rate my play. Plus it isn't difficult to get to other casinos from there. This year she wants to go to the Strip. She honestly doesn't ever ask for much so I accomodated her with a room at Caesars next month. A mini suite, which should be nice but I'll still try the 20 dollar trick to upgrade if I can. We're gonna be there all week so I had hoped to be able to stretch the bankroll out without having to go to the ATM if possible.

I also wasn't very clear in the original post....I meant to ask about casinos on the strip.

The Nugget also only rates 25 or higher. I used to stay there until it changed hands two owners ago. It says right on the players card they rate 25 or more per bet.

Thanks again. Hopefully I'll have a huge win to post in the other thread when we get back.
