The deer and the raccoon show up about the same time every day, I think they remember me from last year.

Are you sure it's the same coon? This one is wearing a mask.

We have a secret handshake so I know it's really her. Yesterday I was sitting on the bench which is a ways from the feeder and she comes up the hill from the Creek and she's walking right at me because she doesn't see me and when she's about three feet away I spoke and she stopped in her tracks and looked at me and veered to the left and kept going to the feeder. I'm not under any illusion that this is a wild animal and if I let her get too close to me and startle her she's going to bite me in self defense. I see them fight with each other and they are extraordinarily fast almost as fast as a cat. They lumber along like big fatties but don't let that fool you They have energy to spare.

Walmart accidentally included a box of honey glazed Donuts in my order today. I know somebody who likes honey glazed Donuts. Raccoons have a phenomenal sense of smell, they can detect sweet things from a mile away. I had to sit outside and break these Donuts up into small pieces it took me about 10 to 12 minutes and the raccoon had to smell it because as soon as I walked away from the feeder she was up there chowing down.

Whoa... you don't have a corn cob spinner?

They should work with donuts, too. Make the trash pandas work for it.
May the cards fall in your favor.

I was curious if there was anything raccoons won’t eat. Here’s stuff they shouldn’t eat.

Cat food: Cat kibble contains high levels of the amino acid taurine, which is fatal to raccoons over time.

Onions and Garlic: These contain thiosulphates, which destroy their red blood cells and cause hemolytic anemia.

Chocolate and Coffee: Both contain caffeine and theobromine, which are highly toxic and can lead to organ failure.

Citrus fruits: The high acidity causes severe gastrointestinal upset and allergic reactions.

That's a good list of what not to feed dogs as well. Particularly, chocolate and coffee which can be immediately fatal.
So many better men, a few of them friends, are dead. And a thousand thousand slimy things live on, and so do I.

The mother ate what she wanted then went and got the kids so they could have Donuts. Yes onions garlic and chocolate are the big three foods not to give wild animals or any animal. This is why you should never let a dog eat pizza because almost all pizza has onion and garlic in the sauce or on the pizza.

This is a once in a million picture. These four young raccoons will never line up like this again and have a picture taken at that exact moment. They never sit still they are constantly in motion.
