Jake said he got $40M for the fight.
I'll legally beat up an old man for $40M
You seriously don't know who won the fight? Come on now, I'm not buying that.Quote: NathanQuote: 7NeverWinsQuote: NathanI'm assuming a Mike Tyson and Jake Paul Boxing Match is just an Exhibition fight, where they PRETEND to fight, but are just having a fake boxing match. iCarly had an exhibition fight where Carly and Shelby were SUPPOSED to have an Exhibition fight(FAKE fighting) but Shelby angrily punched Carly for REAL after Nevel manipulated Carly and Sam's(Carly's Friend) audio to make it sound like Carly PLANNED to push down Shelby's elderly Grandmother when it was purely an accident. The truth was revealed and Shelby, Carly, and Sam beat up Nevel off camera. An Exhibition match between Mike and Jake could be a LOT of fun if it doesn't turn into a REAL anger fight like the Shelby/Carly match.

Nailed it! It's akin to a Shoot Pro Wrestling Match, where the opponents lay in their strikes occasionally, but have an agreement there will be a back & forth exchange for "Entertainment Sake".
This was a glorified shoot pro wrestling match and a boring one at that. Tyson was winded by Round 4 and kept biting his glove to adjust his mouth guard instead of throwing bombs. Paul clearly pulled his punches to "keep things going" and knew he would win by decision if he just landed a few mild punches.
And wouldn't ya know who won the pony???

Quote: Jimmy2TimesInteresting how Tyson was biting down on the thumb of his glove. Mauro Ranallo commented that this was a tick that Tyson did often. I saw just about every Tyson bout and never saw him do this. Biting down on ears - yes, his own glove no. Rich the Fight Historian has some still shots that show Iron Mike biting down on the thumb of his glove behind his peek-a-boo stance and posits that it was due to a lose fitting mouthpiece or that it may have been a signal to Paul to let off the gas a little. Just another quirk to this saga. I was looking for the Panama Lewis bottle in Tyson's corner and thankfully never saw one.

It was on the gloves, hiding in plain sight. Kickapoo juice.

I don't watch Boxing, so no, I DIDN'T know who won the Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul 🥊 fight. At the time that I wrote that post. YouTube spoiled it for me out of the complete blue by saying,"Jake Paul wins 🥊fight against Mike Tyson. 💡

Touche, but YouTube just OUT of the blue said who the winner was. With NO Warning. I feel a ,"Winner of the Jake Paul and Mike Tyson 🥊 match is... And THEN viewers could click on the video to find out, not just have YouTube"bluet," out, Jake Paul won the 🥊 fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson!" 💡

Quote: tuttigymThe 3-part pre-fight series would have one believe that Tyson was in great shape because of his training regimen. For me, it was a scam/come-on because the "fight" produced nothing but a sluggish out of shape 58-year-old man. He ran out of gas after the 2nd round and could barely move. His punches had no authority as in the series, and his team had no strategy for Paul's evasive tactics. Based on the series, the fight was a con.

NOBODY should have ACTUALLY believed a 58 year old man who had RETIRED a long time ago was in great shape for a boxing match. Put in perspective, he's old enough to be a GREAT Grandfather. In my Family, we've had FOUR women become Mothers while they were Minors. My Great Grandma was 16, Grandma was 12, Mother was 16, Daughter(Not me, my Sister) was 14. I was the only Female to not become a Mother and a Minor. 💡 So, my Great Grandma was only 58 when becoming a Great Grandma because of the Family all being Mothers while Minors. So Mike is definitely old enough to be a Great Grandpa. 💡
Quote: billryanSting retired from wrestling this year, shortly after turning 65. He'd been fighting for ten years before Tyson won his title and was World Champion during Tysons championship run. Several WWE wrestlers are 50 and over.

But to be fair, Wrestling is SCRIPTED and staged. Boxing is REAL fighting. 💡

This partial post comes nowhere near being accurate. Most sports venues have Masters Age Group competitions. There are such sanctioned events are over the country and the world. There are world records for each event and age group. Those records are eye-popping. As an example, in swimming the WR for the 50 yard free in the 65-69 age group is 25.42 secs. and for the 100 yd free it is 57.78 secs.
I don't know if you swim, Nathan, but my guess is that you would be hard pressed to swim 25 yds in 25 secs. let alone swimming 100 yds at all without endangering your physical health.
I started swimming/training at my age 59. I swam 5 days a week putting in 3000 meters a day. I swam in local, regional, and state championships. When I was 66 I got entered into a world championship meet. I was in 9 events over 3 days with distances from 50 to 200 meters. I won 7 medals including 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze. In one race, I missed a silver by one-one hundredth of a sec. At my age 72, arthritis in my shoulders forced me to cease my training, but those years were a real rush.
