That's funny but you'd be amazed at number of regular Casino patrons who would watch this and disagree with it. The number of people who think they can get ahead and stay ahead in the casino. I know they exist because I've had conversations with them over the years, lots of them. If you tell them any different they'll get angry with you. Ignorance is bliss is a saying for a reason.

I think casinos are reasonably honest about all of this. If people want to deceive themselves, which business tries to stop them? Who does more than casinos to put helpful information out there in pamphlets and e-mails? My auto dealer does not have a pamphlet saying, no this convertible will not make you look hot to chicks and make your hair get thicker.

When I order a Corona, I do believe they always give me a Corona.

This guy is being dishonest when he says casinos always have an edge.
Gambling is a math contest where the score is tracked in dollars. Try not to get a negative score.

Eh. None of this is really a secret. The casino industry is one of the most honest and up front about how they make their money and what they do with it.

Honest by choice, or honest by compulsion? I don't think they started out that way by choice. At least I would try to distinguish between entities (small and large) that start with premise to at least try be fair with the customers about making their profits.

Disclaimer, I didn't watch the video though.

Really, if I had to guess, gambling became disreputable pretty quick. When you don't establish a legit place for something, guess what kind of people will run it?

That's my theory anyway.

I watched it

He implies more cynicism in the thinking of the casino industry than is really there I think. And not once is there a mention of the idea that "the best approach to gambling is to have fun" ; nor the idea that gambling *can* be cheap entertainment. Instead, he is a complete scold. Some people need to hear it I guess.

I got the notion that this is the gambling world's version of the whining of a type of reformed drunk, the ones who can no longer abide the idea it's OK for some people to have a drink.
