Yes, situational awareness, coupled with Knowledge is a good thing:

And an example:
Once upon a time, I played a lot one day ( on purpose ). I got a freeplay offer sent to my e-mail, good for "today only". But hey, I'm on VAC and not looking at my e-mail several times a day. Called. E-mailed. Talked to the Players Club.
Rinse, Wash, Repeat.
Eventually got the freeplay. Played it. Cashed out. Up.

Id like to add time and place because you need to be physically in space or have programmed something to be at a time and space for you to benefit the rewards of being lucky
