ie: 9/6 JoB ($2 denom), 5k hands (9hrs) has an EV of -$230 +/- $3.1k
so i have $3300 on me when i sit down.
for table games, i normally buy in for 20x my bet, and i sit down with 3 buy in's worth.
for $10 BJ, i sit down with $600.
for Uth ($10 ante/$10 blinds), i sit down with $1200.
But today I figured out the SD for them. (I have lots of time to kill because of the pandemic.)
$10 BJ: 1 sd EV @5k hands = -$145 +/- $758
$10/$10 UTH: 1 sd EV @88 hands (2.5hrs) = -$9.25 +/- $927
20x my bet and carrying 3 buy in's is just some # i use because it sounds good.
I'm thinking figuring out the sd and bringing that amount for table games seems better/more consistent?
What's your daily bankroll for each game you play?
And how did you come up with that figure?
Quote: cwwbjrI usually take $1000 to a $25 min.- $5000 max. mini-bac table and a couple of bottles of water to offset the SD ( standard dehydration ) LOL
Good one. :)
I think you have to just reduce all stress to what is going to happen inside the casino, and not let something outside get to you. When all else fails, use common sense and not a calculation, because you might not always be calculating everything. There might be something you'll want to gamble on, you have to gamble on you weren't thinking of besides the 99% JOB you were talking about.

Whatever it takes to make sure that the boxman rates me fairly.
That's one thing I've changed which people may not realize to do, I do not cash my slot tickets when leaving a casino. Sometimes I cash big tickets, sometimes I don't, just because I'll probably need the money there in the future. Tickets are more compact, can be better carrying tickets than cash for this reason. It's nice not having to waste minutes at the casino cashing tickets, and just being able to leave when it's time.Quote: VegasriderFor the most part, I usually buy in with chips. And I rarely will go to the cage to cash out. Waste of time in my opinion if you play on a regular basis, why bother? Its easier for me to chip up when I leave the table and go home with them and come back with them.

Be careful, unlike chips (At least I don't think chips expire, somebody may correct me), most expire eventually, so if you dont go back right away and let them expire you can lose a lot of money.
I'm not worried one bit.Quote: GandlerBe careful, unlike chips (At least I don't think chips expire, somebody may correct me), most expire eventually, so if you dont go back right away and let them expire you can lose a lot of money.

Most casinos will have machines that also serves as ATMs so you can bypass the cashier when it comes to cashing your slot voucher.

"Bankroll" seems to be one of those terms that gets used so much in so many different ways as to lose all meaning. You seem to be asking how much money I have in my pocket when I walk into a casino. That is usually whatever it was the last time I left the casino. If I think it might be too low, I just stop at the ATM, there are more no-fee ATMs in Las Vegas than there are casinos. I think my daily max is $1000, I'm sure I could ask to have that increased, but never had a need to, and if I go during business hours, there is no max. Another option usually available is to withdraw from sportsbook accounts. Can also setup echecks at a lot of casinos, which function exactly like no-fee ATM withdraws from the cashier. Limits are usually pretty low, $200 - $400.
My daily bankroll for all games, as defined by how much I have when I go to the casino, is almost always around $1000 to $2000. I can never recall missing out on any betting opportunities with that amount. It can be re-loaded whenever I want, with several different methods, so it's not really a "bankroll" at all, more like the amount of money I have when I go to the casino.
