My prediction is that all Nevada casinos will be mandated to close starting tomorrow.

This is the rumor on Twitter right now. Says the NV governor will be forcing all casinos to close until at least March 31.

Just the fact that most here would have bet against the idea of shutting Vegas casinos only 1 week ago....should tell you how things have changed.

The main concern is if the cases grow exponentially as in Italy, the hospitals here will get overwhelmed. Then it becomes selective death.

The scientists are pretty adamant. We need to side on caution. Once the hospitals are overwhelmed....the genie does not go back in the bottle nor are there any “do’overs”...

Nevada Gaming Commission has set up guidelines for those casinos that want to remain open. I don't know how to post up the document on this forum. All the casinos here in Reno are still open.

I got that too but I don't believe it. The GCB is usually a day or two behind. Las Vegas Review Journal now reporting Governor closing all non-essential businesses.

Once these casinos open back up you're gonna see some sweet deals being offered to all the whales in the world... Management's gonna need a few big wins to get back in the black!

This is something that I've paid attention to closely since the 90s. I have always hoped this would be the case, but in my experience the casinos tend to give out more in terms of promotions/ free play/ deals when they're doing well and they tighten up when they're doing bad.

I have no idea what their position is when it comes to giving whales great deals either way.

Updated. Most have closed now. Lots of emails from various ones stating so. At least until end of month, depending upon what occurs after that. In Vegas, I would say at least the Caesars casinos were open, with about half the capacity being open, the main local ones, like Station and Coast casinos. This is as of Tuesday, the 17th.

Just announced by the Governor: all Nevada gaming, including all slot and VP machines, must be stopped effective midnight Tuesday night (3/17).
