Been a long time since I paid $2.79 a dozen for eggs $4.99 for a gallon of milk ... but that's alright . Few in and out visits to the stores for such things and some fresh fruits and veggies. Finally cleaning out the chest freezer and using the BBQ a lot. We are good to go with the extra two tanks of propane .

Hand sanitizer being made here by a few different places just not for the general public

video I saw they were filling 5 gallon pails from a 200 gallon tote .... local groups delivering if for free .

Windsor area 3 deaths from the virus while Detroit a half mile away across the river has had 167 so far. With well over 1000 nurses and hospital staff for Detroit hospitals coming from Windsor area we expect that number to rise
in Windsor >Border is closed to general traffic with few exceptions ( the medical folks)

TP and other paper products are returning to the shelves here. My local grocery store has gone to a 1 person per cart policy and instituted one-way aisles to minimize face-to-face contact. Target and Walmart are starting their limit on people in-store today. Target is apparently going for 200, including staff. I'm not sure of Walmart's number. 200 is a good estimate for the normal shopping load, though. So I'm not sure what that helps. There's still no pasta anywhere. And no cold meds.

Made a medium sized trip today. Some things are in abundance, others are wiped out. Picked up a six pack of toilet paper.

Lots of hand sanitizer stations all over the store, and cart wipes. They insisted we use the stylus on the push pad, and they wiped the stylus between customers. They also wiped the belt between customers and had lexan sneeze shields. About 75% of people (including us) wore face masks. We felt reasonably secure.

This is a Wegman’s, major regional chain in the mid Atlantic.

I went to a local supermarket yesterday and it looked like everything was available besides the TP, paper towels, and kleenex. About 20% of the people were wearing masks.

Safeway has stopped its "$5 Friday" promotion where I live. Presumably, it didn't want too many people showing up on the same day for one-day sale prices.

Did you see a sign in store or something? I looked around online a little and could not confirm. The current (pared down) sales ad for Von's/Albertson's ends on Tuesday April 7th. Maybe it is going to be the last one for some time? Their "Just for U" app deals and rewards still look active when I sign in.

Went to the store for the first time
since March 4th. Wore the mask
and felt like an idiot until I saw
all the other idiots in masks.

Got everything on my list, even $2
a dozen eggs. Filled all 3 fridges
with produce and the freezer with
chicken, pork, and burger. Won't have
to go back for a month.

Saw way too many couples without
masks. WTF, one of you can't come
with a list while the other stays
home you selfish jerks?
