I think they are still around. I think the actors who played Boss Hogg and Uncle Jesse have also died, but 40 years after the show, that's to be expected.
Quote: WizardRick Hurst left us today. If the name isn't familiar, he played Cletus Hogg on one of my favorite childhood shows, The Dukes of Hazzard.
He ended up a Chuck Cunningham. After Enos got back to town there was no reason for him to be there. IIRC they patrolled together for a few episodes then *poof* he was never heard from again. Maybe he hung out with Coy and Vance wherever they ended up.
Quote: avianrandyI figured they were probably close to Cletus age is why I asked. Google says join Schneider is 65 and tom wopat 73. John Schneider has been married 4 times

In 2017, Tom Wopat was arrested in a town not too far from me for accosting an underage female member of a stage production he as in, as well as drug (cocaine) charges. He pled guilty to annoying and accosting a person of the opposite sex and got probation. His arrest made local news at the time.

That's a crime?
I think I need a lawyer.
For both defense and prosecution.

It's Lucille Ball when she was 18 in 1929 and started working as a model. She started making movies in the early 1930s. Now that you know who she is you can see it immediately. I Love Lucy never stopped playing all over the world since it came out in the early fifties. Even today it's on all kinds of cable channels and Pluto TV has a 24-hour I Love Lucy channel.
Quote: avianrandyKnowing she had red hair would have been a big help. Good photo but it's in black and white

She was not a redhead, it was medium brown and she dyed it blonde and then red in the 40's.

At age 18. You have a source for that photo. They don't look alike. Different noses which is pretty hard to do with just make up even today much less 1929
And she was clearly dyed Blonde in 1929!

EDIT: Forget it. Google Lens lookup confirms it's NOT Lucille Ball.
It's Jean Harlowe. SMH.

If that's true it's not my mistake. I was reading an article about the life of Lucille Ball and this was one of the pictures and the captain said it was her when she started her modeling career.

What's fascinating about Desi and Lucy is that they pretty much invented modern television. He came up with the three camera method, doing it in front of a live audience, but the biggest thing Desi Arnaz came up with was he invented the rerun. Him and Lucy lived in Los Angeles because she was a movie star and they wanted them to move to New York because all the sitcoms were live and shot in New York City. So Desi Arnaz said well let's film it like it's a movie and then you can show it anytime you want. CBS said that's way too expensive so Lucy and Desi took $1,000 a week which was a tremendous amount of money in 1950 from their salary and they filmed it themselves but CBS had to give them the rights to the show. Which they gladly did, foolishly, because they said nobody's ever going to want to watch a TV episode they've already seen. When Lucy got pregnant in the last month she couldn't work so Desi showed reruns for the first time ever on television and they were a huge hit. The ratings did not go down one bit and the rest of the industry noticed and immediately started copying it. Desi Arnaz always acted like the buffoon and he was anything but.

1. Dodge Charger, I think
2. The battle flag of the Army of Northern Virginia
5. Merle Haggard?
6. Waylon Jennings?
7. Roscoe P. Coltraine
8. The Boar's Nest
9. Jefferson Davis "Boss" Hogg
12. Runnin' 'shine
14. The Dukes got away - I think usually by jumping over some river or stream that the police cars ended up falling into
16. Abraham Lincoln Hogg
18. They had to sing - "a lot"
19. They became NASCAR racers
20. Coy and Vance
21. Enos, and the name of the show was "Enos"
Here's some bonus trivia, which is put in a spoiler as one of the questions gives away the answer to one of the original questions:
2. What condition did CBS put on Daisy's clothing?
3. Why did Wopat and Schneider briefly leave the show, anyway?
2. She had to wear pantyhose every time she wore her "Daisy Dukes" shorts.
3. It depends on who told the story. They claimed that they were tired of the same old dumbed down scripts. The producers claimed they wanted a larger share of the merchandise. In the end, the scripts did not get better, but they did get more of the merchandise money.
1. Nobody knows how many Chargers were used but the most accepted number is about 220.
2. Near the end they used a model car for jumps as what was just an old Dodge in Season 1 was now a collectible.
3. None of the General Lees had a 426 Hemi, several did have 440s.
4. Big block engines were never used for jumps because they were nose-heavy.
5. The "roll cage" in the close-up General Lees is nothing but exhaust pipe.
6. The first few GLs were custom jobs and slightly differ from later ones. Some have "Charger" in the grille, some have crossed Confederate and checker flags behind the backlite. Other various little things. When the show got picked up they got an internal system set up.
7. The 220 cars destroyed saved many times that many as it became a dream car for a generation.
8. There is only one episode in which the General Lee does not appear.
9. Because of the Confederate Flags the General Lee is banned from various shows despite the show being one of the most wholesome of all time.
Some general trivia:
1. The first season was filmed in Georgia in fall. You can even see Georgia road signs. This gives those episodes a overcast, gritty feel than when filming moved to CA.
2. The first season also aired at 9 PM and it was not a "kid's show." There was innuendo and they said things like Enos being "the oldest virgin in Hazard County." This changed when the show moved to 8 PM and the censors and standards group tightened things up.
3. Roscoe was an honest sheriff until the citizens of Hazard voted down his pension after which he needed to earn side money.
4. Daisy's first "car" varied between two different Plymouth Roadrunner years. When it was crashed she got a Jeep named "Dixie." It said "Dixie" on the doors the first time they showed it, after that it said "Dixie" on the hood bulge.
5. Luke usually drove in the first few episodes, but they found John Schneider was a better driver for the close-up mini-stunts.
6. When the jump at the end of the credits and you hear two "YEEE-HAAAS" it is really just Bo's voice played twice.
7. Jesse Duke must have had a ton of brothers to produce cousins Bo, Luke, Daisy, Coy, Vance, and a few others who showed up. But who are they?
8. It took until season 7 for them to stop showing Waylon Jenning's hands and not his face on TV.

Great presence onscreen, a legend of b tier movies and sometimes even A lister.
Michael Madsen's distressing private health battle revealed
His agent Perry Wander: Michael was suffering from the effects of alcoholism. He had multiple stints in and out of rehab. He struggled to maintain his sobriety. He was not happy about his life.
I actually met Madsen at a Playboy Mansion party once, one of the last ones, but the conversation was mostly about why he did so many crappy movies. He just laughed and said that "thirty grand is thirty grand" - referring to how much he got paid for some of those movies. He said that Tarantino was the only one who ever paid him well.
I also saw him playing blackjack in Vegas with Owen Wilson but he was in a bad mood shooing away anyone who approached him.
I am into any movie that has a Vegas or gambling genre to it, and I watched Dirty Dealing (2018) and was surprised that Madsen was in it. That movie was far from good but some of the girls in it were hot. 3.8 on the IMDB, which is abysmal.
Still, that line Are you gonna bark all day little doggy? or are you gonna bite? shall live on in infamy.

The Confederates' armies used different battle flags. The Armies of Northern Virginia and Tennessee used the one most people recognize; however, the Army of the Trans-Mississippi (the troops that fought in, for example, Texas) switched the red and blue.
I once was going to suggest that southerners replace the ANV flag with one that reversed the colors as their "flag of southern pride" before discovering that it was the flag of the ATM.

Disney should make a movie about that championship team; it was a team of destiny.
Jenks was a big man. He was tall and broad. Usually, a manager will point with his left hand if he wants a leftie out of the pen, or with his right hand for a rightie. The White Sox manager used to summon Jenks with both hands in an exaggerated manner that drove the faithful wild. He had a short but spectacular career.
