Every request to see the forums takes 9 more seconds than it would take if you arent logged in.
FOR Every request, at least it is saying "get all of these recent forums"
AND
IF you are logged in, its also saying "Hey, was this record viewed by this user?"
and im also assuming its doing other stuff essentially more than doubing the amount of time it takes to retrieve the records.
ill stay logged out until i have to respond which seems crazy but the wait is not worth it for me FOR EVERY time i have to request the forums page, which is quite often.
now if i say, according to the bottom page of this website, there are 9211 ACTIVE users.
11 seconds times 9211 people. You do the math. Its a lot of wasted time.
Oh you might be able to halve that number if you believe that half of the internet is populated with bots.

The “recent threads” area on the main forum page is pretty much unusably slow. Especially on mobile. It just spins forever.

I agree. It’s very annoying how long a page takes to load, I don’t have any other message boards that have that issue

Nicely presented analysis of the problem, thank you. It's rather obvious what needs to be addressed, should the powers that be choose to do so.

I posted in another thread about the problem a little while back and none of the powers to be seemed to care. At least they didnt repsond to it.

i figured speaking numbers might help as 2 seconds, compared to 11 seconds, is cray.
