Shouldice is one of seven private hospitals grandfathered in and is still family owned.

And clicking on the wiki, I guess Rand Paul has a hernia? I would have never have guessed there was an entire hospital devoted to hernias.

Apparently he suffered a hernia from being tackled by a neighbor? I shouldn't laugh but wow. I've heard of NFL players suffering a concussion during a tackle but never a hernia. Weird.

It's interesting to hear the GOP talk out of both sides of their mouths on this. On one hand, they say that Democrats want open borders so they get more votes. And then on the other hand, they say that Democrats supported the wall before Trump supported it.

Which is it?

I'm neither GOP nor did I say either of those things. Don't group me bro.

I have said though, that Hillary and Obama supported the coup against Zelaya that destabilized Honduras in 09, which destroyed a working country, and created a lot of these migrants. see "The long Honduran night" by Dana Frank, or Hedges "America, the farewell tour" or even Wiki, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009_Honduran_coup_d%27%C3%A9tat

Find somewhere on the internet where I've supported the wall, and then we can discuss if I've said anything about voter registration.

Back to the Bizzaro world of the White House
Trump was hosting Clemson who won the National Championship. (sigh, UCF lost)
What feast did Trump serve as host to superb athletes.
Fast food
WTF
Are the WH chefs not working due to the shutdown?
This is so funny, I had to make sure its not from the Onion
Trump went all out, not just fast food from one place, he served Wendys, Burger King and Mcdonalds. What a guy
Due to the shutdown, was Trump paying for this? Hmm. Now it makes sense

Although I still despise Drumpf for mocking witches because CNN told me to, but even I have to admit, that’s pretty bada** to do a McDonald’s / Burger King / Wendy’s feast.

There are other local businesses that are also American, as well as American workers in the White House kitchen that could have prepared something more in line with expectations of a group of athletes who are watching their nutrition. Another fail.

My bolding, from the link you posted: "Per the White House, Trump himself paid for the food because the government shutdown left much of the White House staff on a furlough."

Do you expect Melania to do the cooking? In the link you posted, he said exactly what he was going to put out for food, the link says WH staff is furloughed. Yeah fast food sucks, but come on.

TSA lines are becoming ridiculous
I have business clients bailing on the Atlanta airport and driving to South Carolina instead
My clients all have TSA pre check
Its meaningless during this shutdown :-)

Is this something that is part of your job? Meaning do you monitor airport situations and alert clients which airports to avoid? Do you hear by word of mouth or is there an official website or something like that?

Saw a time lapse video of check in at ATL. Was at like 10x speed and still took a minute to get through the whole thing. And then it was stated that wasn't even the line, but the line FOR the line. One person showed up 3 hours early and missed their flight by an hour.

Wonder if now would be a better time to smuggle due to frustrations and disillusionment, or worse due to workman's malice.

Changing a reservation due to TSA problems, Yes that is my job.
I work in business travel which means changing reservations multiple times, often while the client is in the middle of a trip.
We do not monitor individual airports
We are advising ALL travelers travelling through a US airport to arrive 3 hrs early
There is no official website regarding TSA delays

I mostly book international but I do some domestic

Hopefully they can use this opportunity to cull the government workforce of all the unnecessary elements. Get the TSA out of the airports and turn it back over to private security. I have never hired a non essential employee in my entire work life. They need to pay anyone that is reporting for duty, bring back any others that actually do something, and issue the rest pink slips and send them to the unemployment office.

Do drug smugglers fill out a survey once they complete their activities telling the government how they got their product into the country?

I keep hearing the statement "most drugs come across at ports of entry" as if it is 100% factual. It could be a fact, but it sounds like it should be more of a "we believe that __________________" type of statement instead of a statement of fact.

The truth is...we don't know for sure. Drug smugglers don't want their haul discovered and they use many means to get them across the border.

A wall won't solve the problem, nor will it solve all of our problems with illegal immigration. It will funnel people into smaller areas, allow better surveillance, etc.

I was inundated by Republican emails during the last election cycle based on a very small donation to the party made a couple of years ago during the Presidential primaries.

Someone mentioned getting a lot of emails from them. I wondered if the Dems did the same thing...so I made an even smaller donation to that party.

Once I was on both mailing lists, I got scads of emails from both parties. The Republican ones were less positive in nature about the election, reflecting the anticipated, and eventually actual, results.

The world did not end with the House changing hands. I was pretty sure it wouldn't...

Since the election, there have been very few emails from the Republicans.

The Democrats send two or more every day. They want me to help them catch up with the $100 million already raised by the presumptive 2020 Republican nominee...

The El Chapo trial is going on right now.

Quote:

New York (CNN)Most drugs are smuggled into the United States onboard fishing boats, trains, tractor-trailers and ordinary cars that come into the country at legal ports of entry, according to former cartel members who've testified in the trial of notorious cartel leader Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman.
Some cartel members have testified about using underground tunnels. But none have said they've transported drugs into the United States at unwalled sections of the border.

Burger King is apparently claiming they don't have any hamberders. https://www.foxnews.com/food-drink/burger-king-trolls-president-trump-with-hamberder-tweet I think that is the wrong move. One of these fast food joints could create the "Meal that Trumps All" or "Orange Man Special". A double hamberder with ketchup and mustard which when mixed is orange. Could have an orange drink of some sort called the covfefe. Even do some sweet potato fries or something like that.

People from both sides of the aisle would be lining up. Not sure what's going on with the marketing minds of America. Must be consuming too much soy or something.

Looks like the Feast was a success.

I've gone through TSA I think 6 times in the last week or so. Haven't had a single problem. They've all been real quick, seems like faster than usual, to be honest. Well, there was a problem the other day....they found a burrito in my bag and kept scanning it through and finally they asked if I had a burrito in my bag and I was like, "Yeah".

Did you use a major hub such as ATL or ORD or another huge hub

I would imagine at small airports, the TSA team is small and if you don't show up, you are hurting an associate you know.
At the massive airports, TSA is huge and probably more apt not to show up because its a stranger they are hurting

Not any major hubs like JFK, LAX, etc. But not super small like an airport that only sees a few flights a day.

Our family has traveled through several airports with in the past 10 days:

BWI
HOU
SAT
LAS
LAX

There have been no TSA issues; in fact, TSA has been quicker than normal.

I know problems have been reported at several airports. I do wonder if it will spread.

They closed the TSA checkpoint at Terminal B @ IAH but I believe that is United's commuter terminal and there other ways to get to the terminal after passing security in another terminal.

ATL has been a zoo more than once when we have traveled through there. if they have an issue with agents not showing up, it would likely be a big problem pretty quickly.

Yes, I always believe what the criminals say when they are ratting out the other criminals.

Again, I didn't say that it was not true. I said that it is stated as a "fact" when it is more "to the best of our knowledge"...because we really don't know if we don't catch people or have them tell us. When they do tell us, we have to take it with a grain of salt...they are criminals telling us what they think we want to hear or what will help them get off easier.

We need better border security. It is a combination of things, including a fence/wall/big thing that blocks people from crossing border. We need to discourage illegal crossings and the dangers of crossing where there is no food or water. We need to stop criminal trespass by illegals across ranches that don't want them on the property. It isn't like they are just crossing government land; the landowners deserve protection, too.

Like Manafort, if you're going to tell the truth to get leniency, all your facts need to check out with what facts are also known by law enforcement. As they don't know what law enforcement knows, making up lies is a big risk.

Flew out of LAS this morning through PreCheck. It was early but there wasn’t 5 people in line at Terminal 1 and the regular lines were not bad either from what I saw. Same thing at PHL when arriving, no more people in line it appears then normal and certainly nothing closed.

It’s just more wishful thinking by liberals looking to find any reason to stop the wall and hurt Trump.

PHL and LAS are not major hubs.
I am in the business and clients are complaining

I don’t disagree with you saying your customers are complaining but some of us have observed no issues. So instead of speculation we should have unbiased facts.

ATL has had issues and maybe a few at MIA. Otherwise where are the issues of PreCheck lanes being closed? Or having longer lines? Other than some wishful thinking from the HuffPost and a few other fringe left sites, not much put there.

Assuming the vast majority of your clients have TSA PC.

A couple of travelers here saying everything is OK
vs
Somebody in the business that talks to road warriors all day every business day
Its a big country with a lot of airports.

ATL is a problem
This is a tweet not from the Huff Post. This tweet is from yesterday and tweeted by the airport itself
"#ATL is experiencing longer than usual wait times during peak travel. Please plan ahead and give yourself 3 hours to clear security. "

I have business clients bailing on ATL if the drive is not to brutal

Call your Congress critter. Apparently the Dems are boycotting meeting on the issue. Maybe they were afraid of being served fast food at the meeting. If it was at a 5 star resort with unlimited expense accounts they would probably make the meeting.
The orange man keeps extending the olive branch and they are content to chew off their constituents hands and keep theirs ( well you know where).

When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

Call your Congress critter. Apparently the Dems are boycotting meeting on the issue.

Good!

The Dems have absolutely no reason to budge on this stupid wall. If Mexico ain’t paying, why should we?!

Poll after poll says many more people blame Trump for the shutdown (that he was “proud” to take ownership of) than the Dems.

Let his numbers suffer. Even Rasmussen has him down to like 43% approval, which in reality is like 33% because of how biased Rasmussen is (they actually predicted the GOP would have a +1% margin in November when in reality it turned out being Dems +9, LOL).

????????
A couple of travelers here saying everything is OK
vs
Somebody in the business that talks to road warriors all day every business day
Its a big country with a lot of airports.

ATL is a problem
This is a tweet not from the Huff Post. This tweet is from yesterday and tweeted by the airport itself
"#ATL is experiencing longer than usual wait times during peak travel. Please plan ahead and give yourself 3 hours to clear security. "

I have business clients bailing on ATL if the drive is not to brutal

But you are also biased about the issue. But I agree, ATL is an issue as I stated, where are all the other problems and why is ATL facing this issue? Higher callouts? Not as dedicated workers?

Time will tell if the issue expands, and it will also tell how important these workers take their job. Of course it sucks not getting paid, but they know they will eventually and should have pride in their jobs.

I would if I knew your Critter's name. Until then I had to come up with something as a place holder.😀

Let’s just legalize MJ federally and use all that tax money for the wall.

That sounds like a good compromise to me.

I don’t want that Mexican rag weed anyway.

But
If somebody states somebody else will take care of the bill, no way I am paying
I heard Trump over and over and over telling me I wont be paying for the wall
This is not a slip of the tongue. Not just mentioned once. He said it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over

A politician lied.

Next story, please...

So the newest candidate for President is also a liar. She said during her campaign for the Senate that she would not run against trump in 2020. Her opponent has stated that he never believed her. She said, within days, that she would consider running. Now she has announced.

A politician lied...

We could do this all day!!

OMG. Bring Wackenhut back?? They were a huge disaster. Private security idiots is why that's now a federal job. Look it up.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

Congress-critter. Somewhat common slang when you don't know whether Congressman or Congresswoman is correct.

He was not calling YOU critter.

And yet, your side is STILL going on about Obama saying “if you like your health plan....” so many years ago.

Interesting how dismissive of political lies you get when the shoe is on the other foot.
