For anyone interested, this is kind of an article about politics and telemarketing polls sort of loosely tied to politics gambling:
https://wizardofvegas.com/articles/do-not-trust-the-polls/
It basically talks about how telemarketing polls work and all of the flaws inherent in them. It relates back to betting because some people might take data from a single poll, call it, "Research," and then go play the PredictIt binary or overseas politics betting sportsbooks with it.

I’m not entirely sure, other than all I’ve heard or read about it is that he’s planning on cutting 10% for the middle class. If that’s the case, then I’m likely on board with it. Although idk what’s going to replace that....hopefully social security.

Yes, of course. He thinks he can just cut those taxes without the help of Congress.
Funny world you live in...he is talking about a 10% tax cut, but he also mentioned at least one Congressman who was helping work on the proposal.
No, it isn't that he thinks he can do it alone; it is just another political promise on the campaign trail. As we've seen from past Presidents, some get passed into law and the promises are kept; some don't and the promise is unfulfilled.
The dude does tons of things wrong that can be criticized; this one is a bit of a reach.

Trump initially claimed they would be passing the tax cut before the election (about 2 weeks ago). The reporters corrected his understanding of that. So he spitballed from there with them about how that "would" happen.
It was just a lie to get the sound bite out there and help his preferred candidates.
I tell ya, they BETTER not finish their move to steal SS and Medicare funds. Those are funded by hundreds of millions of workers and their employers, not by income taxes, and are held in trust. They've been borrowed against on paper in the past, but now they just want to take them outright - and they have no right to do that.
It will be political suicide if they do. Their biggest voting bloc by age percentage are those who collect both as over-65 citizens. You think a blue wave is coming now? Do that, in 2 years it will be a 100 ft high tsunami.

How horrible! A politician made a promise to do something in the midst of a campaign! The horror! He might have even made a mistake in how he presented it!
You guys make me laugh. Just saying anything positive about him drives you nuts and makes people call other people names, no matter what they might have been said negative about him in the past. Instead of sticking to the obvious flaws that he has, some people go out of their way to make everything a flaw.
Everyone complained that the original tax cut was not aimed at the middle class. There may have even been something said about a second round at the point it was passed. Now he starts talking about a second round and it has to be a "lie"...no, it won't be a "lie" until he fails to present for a vote via the normal process.
As to the Medicare/SS, there is a lot of talk right now. I want to see the actual proposals. That issue becomes more important to me as I move towards retirement age. I agree--it could be a huge issue in the future.

You guys still bring up Obama’s “if you like your plan you can keep it” every single chance you get, over 8 years later.
Trump saying he’s going to pass a 10% middle class tax cut BEFORE the midterms, when Congress isn’t even in session before the midterms, is a bigger lie.
Please don’t get too upset if us lefties make a big deal out of it, as you righties have made over Obama’s statement for the last decade or so.

Lie = Obama’s “if you like your plan you can keep it” Though it may not have been intended as lie (thoughts differ on this), it is a lie because he promised it and it did not happen nor did he really attempt to make it happen.
Lie = "We had the biggest audience in the history of inaugural speeches." Duh.
Truth - if he had said "We had the biggest audience in the history of 2016 inaugural speeches."
Political Promise = the new 10% tax cut
Misstatement = whatever he said that had to do with doing anything before the election. The only thing that can happen before that is to present a plan and perhaps write the bill

A tax cut of any kind is not a positive. We're running record deficits. I didn't complain about not getting a tax cut for the middle class. I complained a lot about any tax cut at all.
Taxes make things happen. Nobody works for free. And nobody is paying too much right now, but a lot of people and corporations aren't paying enough.
Congress and this Administration cut taxes for the rich and corporations without paying for it, except cheesy moves like cancelling scheduled federal employees raises. Again. I complained about it when they did it, and I will complain about it again now.
With great freedom comes great responsibility. It's not responsible to not fund infrastructure, both upkeep and improvements. To not fund government agencies providing critical services.

No, see, SS and Medicare is safe for their voting bloc. They're going to make sure of that somehow. What they're going to do is cut it for everyone under a certain age, yet we'll still have to pay in to it. Everyone who is getting it now is safe, but they're going to raise the retirement to something ludicrous like 75, or means test it to some ridiculous low level.

He was convicted in NJ for theft of public property, which they say means welfare cheat or something like that. Since 1991 living in Florida, he has charges for theft, fraud, drugs, other stuff, including previously making bomb threats.
His twitter account says he was working in promotions for HR Hollywood, and was in the past a wrestler and cage fighter. Someone who knows him says he's always been a nut job, hit the steroids too hard when he was doing the physical stuff, and people would stay out of his path. And yeah, he's a registered Republican.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is. Domestic terrorism is a capital offense. Depends on what they find out about his intent and whether the bombs were capable of exploding. Would definitely be one if anyone gets hurt, including the bomb squad. It may also depend on whether he was working alone or if it's a conspiracy.

"You make me laugh".
It's funny to see a liberal triggered by a mere comparison of what could be considered a lie and what was a campaign promise that is not yet (but could be) a lie.
I wasn't attacking your beloved President Obama; it is just the one promise of his that went terribly wrong, making it into a lie. The reason I picked it is that it came to mind as the lie of the year or something like that. It was something that he may have thought he was going to be able to make sure happened at the time, or perhaps he knew it never would, but we did not KNOW it was a lie for sure until later.
So that people wouldn't see it as an attack on Obama, I also put in an obvious lie that was known to be one right away--the inauguration crowd thing.
Some things can't be proven as lies right away. Some things can.
The tax cut is a promise. If it never gets presented in any fashion it is a lie. If it is not for the middle class and gives more to some other group, it may also be a lie. if he presents it but it does not pass (maybe a Democrat House or maybe some of the other reasons not to do a tax cut--which BBB so kindly pointed out but was also not really part of the conversation about lies/misstatements/promises and no position was presented on my part). if it gets defeated, it is a promise that did not get kept.
If he does not deliver immigration reform, it will be a promise unkept.

You may already know the answer to this question from past discussions. I have free medical coverage for life based on over 20 years of military service. To be sure, they keep raising the price on my free medical care and I may have to change doctors due to contract renegotiations and such, but so fart so good.
"Doctor and hospital switching has become a recurring scramble as consumers on the individual market find it difficult or impossible to stay on their same plans amid rising premiums and a revolving door of carriers willing to sell policies. The instability, which preceded the health law, is intensifying in the fourth year of the Obamacare exchanges for people buying insurance directly instead of through an employer."
https://money.cnn.com/2016/10/18/news/economy/obamacare-plans/index.html
It may have worked out for you and I, but apparently CNN was convinced enough that it didn't work out for everyone to address it.

I believe there is a difference between a promise and a lie. Do you?
If Trump said I'm going to get the middle class a tax cut and Congress prevented it, that isn't a lie. Obama may have believed what he said about the Drs and circumstances beyond his control prevented it. What trump said was untrue and a rational person knows it was untrue.
Barack Obama didn't push for single-payer. Barack Obama abandoned the public option early in the debate. Barack Obama didn't push for the true liberal solution to healthcare in the United States. Instead, he pushed for a plan that he thought, and he was admittedly naive in this, he pushed for plan that had support in conservative circles for years. The individual mandate was a conservative idea! It was the center of Bob Dole's plan in 96. It was passed by a Republican governor in a blue state!
And you know what? It wasn't anywhere near liberal enough for liberals!
Obama was called the "the most leftist" President in history. Let me ask ya: If you aren't anywhere near liberal ENOUGH for liberals, how can you be the most liberal president in history?
Rhetorical of course. You can't.
