Quote: billryanIs he finally admitting
Come on, you know Trump never admits to anything....
Quote: billryanTrump just canceled Pompeos trip to North Korea. Is he finally admitting NK is still an actual threat?
More likely he's just trying to get people to STOP TALKING ABOUT MICHAEL COHEN!!!
Quote: Dalex64Uhm, no?
Cohen paid hush money to the women out of his own pocket.
Since that money was to influence the election (or rather not influence the election by keeping Trump's affairs secret) it became a campaign contribution.
Since it exceed the limits for individual contributors, it became an illegal campaign contribution. <--- this is the crime
We have yet to see if Trump reimbursing Cohen later is money laundering.
Doesn't sound like it's money laundering for that part. The issue seems to be, if Trump reimbursed him, he is allowed to contribute to his own campaign, but he has to report exactly how much, when, source (personal asset, LLC, etc), that kind of detail.
My understanding is: He filed the documents that info should have been on, but it was missing, so he underreported. Along with other stuff he ran through his companies and/or charitable foundation, that were payments in kind or campaign donations that went undeclared.
One of the more interesting things they reimbursed Cohen for was $50000 for "tech services " . Cohen made some trip to Russia around Oct 2016. Question is whether he paid a troll farm over there. Some evidence supposedly leads to that conclusion.
Caveats: lots we don't know yet. Lots of avenues to consider for those prosecuting. Lots I don't know about applicable law, whether FEC, finance, taxes, allowable charitable distributions, foreign transactions, real estate valuations, all of which have been mentioned as possible irregularities, violations, or illegal activities.
Trumps CFO has now been granted immunity against charges

I don't think it's blanket immunity. It most likely is specific to a particular incident. Federal immunity doesn't mean NY State or even NYC can't charge him.
Does the CFO still have his job?

I am very curious where you got this information from. I have never heard any mention of Cohen going to Russia. There was speculation that he went to Prugue, but this has been denied by both Cohen and his Lawyer Lanny Davis.
As for the $50000 reimbursement for "tech" services, what evidence leads to that conclusion? What real news source? I quote from page 26, paragraph 37 of Cohen's court document:
"The $50, 000 represented a claimed payment for "tech services , "which in fact related to work COHEN had solicited from a technology company during and in connection with the campaign."

Does the CFO still have his job?
Its in relation to the cohen issues
This CFO worked for trump for 20 years i believe and was directly in charge of most of trumps direct finances
Yes, the CFO is the person I'm most interested in. He can highlight fraud in a LOT of different realms trump has been accused of... from money laundering with the russians to money laundering through his 'fake' charities, so on and so forth. Can't wait to hear what this guy has to say...Quote: darkozIts in relation to the cohen issues

He has still hired and surrounded himself with multiple people who have committed multiple crimes warranting decades in prison, and he's been doing that for years.
Is that somebody you want in charge? Somebody that incompetent and ignorant to what is going on around him? Somebody completely ensconced in massive criminal conspiracies going on all around him?

So a regular ol president, then.
Seems a good precedent to set and what should be standard from here on out. Serve your 4-8, then right into the clink for life.

If the right wants to claim look the other way because thats normal business then they give up their right to argue its atrocious when they claim a democrat is doing it
Quote: TigerWuLet's just assume for the sake of argument that Trump is absolutely and completely innocent of everything he's even remotely been accused of. I mean he's totally squeaky clean.

Add to that he says he hired Jeff Sessions out of a sense of loyalty, rather than qualifications. Only the best people.

Nah, we haven't seen anything like this. The Trump administration is unlike anything we've experienced.

The democrats are blind that the people in office are generally corrupt
The righties know the people in office are generally corrupt and vote for them anyway because thats the way it is

How many people (notably federal employees) have been killed because of official fecklessness and malfeasance?Quote: SteverinosNah, we haven't seen anything like this. The Trump administration is unlike anything we've experienced.

I don't buy into the "all sides do it" and "all presidents are pathological liars" so it's "just business as normal" arguments. This behavior is not to be so easily excused.

I don't know if we'll ever know the official death count from the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.

SanchoPanza's question is too vague and impossible to answer.
How many died from poor response to natural disasters?
How many have died from military actions?
How many have died due to changes in policies (health care, immigration, etc.)?
Yadda yadda yadda
There's way too many variables.

Sorry, too easy of an opening.
Not if we start by looking at known casualties involving, as specified, federal employees. Granted though that might difficult to accommodate, this ridiculously sweeping statement, "Nah, we haven't seen anything like this. The Trump administration is unlike anything we've experienced,'' easily points to U.S. governments that have faked reasons for starting major wars as well as lesser sleazy operations around the entire globe. It is a loony exercise to equate overblown rhetoric to any sort of bloodshed.Quote: TigerWuSanchoPanza's question is too vague and impossible to answer.

Likely he's sideswiping Clinton and Benghaxi. And face I know you're anti-government but come on man.
For some it was better to elect Trump and see what he could do rather then have 4 to 8 years of the same old crap with a relative of an former president and 4-8 years of gridlock.. We get it.
We also get to complain about many of what i believe are terrible outcomes as a result of that choice, many of which can be measured.
You can add Gulf of Tonkin, Khobar Towers, "WMD's," Black Hawk Down, the USS Pueblo and the Iranians' making our sailors kneel and cry, among too many other examples of being shamed.Quote: boymimboLikely he's sideswiping Clinton and Benghaxi. And face I know you're anti-government but come on man.

Quote:CNN has exclusively obtained a copy of the "source agreement" between Sajudin and AMI, which is owned by David Pecker.
The contract appears to have been signed on Nov. 15, 2015, and states that AMI has exclusive rights to Sajudin's story but does not mention the details of the story itself beyond saying, "Source shall provide AMI with information regarding Donald Trump's illegitimate child..."

Boo freaking hoo. America has by far the largest military and blsck-ops operations in the world, by far. The only defense to that is assymetical warfare. The results of that are unavoidable under any Administration. When you send your soldiers into difficult situations and involve them in the number of sorties that you do mistakes are going to happen.
If you are going to let those isolated incidents solely dictate foreign policy decisions then one has to very poor grasp of geopolitics.
How many billions of dollars will Trump's ego cost you?
We can start with his investigation of fraulent voting which yielded squat. The cost of that investigation was how much, and it was fine why?
Quote: AxelWolfPerhaps she will dyke out with your girl/man Hillary. Or get with your man Michelle.
Either choice would be a huge step up from Donald.

Okay, so, Steverinos said "we've never seen anything like Trump," and you automatically jump to "deaths of federal employees" like that's the only criterion to judge administrations? What if Steverinos wasn't talking about that? We never saw anything like Obama either (half-black), we never saw anything like JFK (Catholic, screwed Marilyn Monroe), we never saw anything like Nixon (resigned), etc..... so why is it unreasonable to say we never saw anything like Trump, and the actions he has taken and the scandals that surrounded him while in office?
It's true. We've never experienced anything like Trump. I don't see what that's even an arguable statement.
Any righties, don’t try to counter by bringing up Obama’s 58 states... That’s tired.

I never frequent this thread because of how nasty it generally gets, but I almost posted about this. I for one am saddened by this. To me, he truly was an American hero. People may not have agreed with him on each of his issues, but he served his country dutifully for nearly 4 decades. I have been reading some posts in the comments section of Ben Shaprio's post about his death. They are some of the most awful things.

He would have been a decent president. Picking Palin was a gamble that didn't work for him but he was a dutiful political servant, a great American and a true stalwart classic Republican. He will be greatly missed.

How would you rank this administration compared to Obama, Bush 43, or the Cuomos?

I was making fun of his stupid ass.
Learn the difference.
But with Trump there is something almost EVERY SINGLE DAY, literally, showing how stupid he is, that completely blows 57 States out of the water. Even Bush Jr. could go weeks if not several months without saying something dumb.
