A forum full of numbers driven game players and gamblers should have an FBB league.
I'd like 12-15 teams.
Roto style scoring. Ideally, season long scoring. I'm open to weekly head to head, but points leagues are for cretins.
I propose 6x6.
HR SB RBI R SLG OBP.
Don't be intimidated by this. It is simple. Slugging and OBP just mean that your players get credit for doubles, tripples and walks. It is MUCH more fun to watch, and reflects the quality of the players.
For example. Your man, Robinson Cano goes 1/4 with a walk and a double. You are happy he hit a double. You are happy he got a walk. It's a good game.
If you just play with batting average, he didn't help you at all, and nothing much happened to cheer.
Pitchers:
W ERA WHIP Sv SO and HOLDS
We added holds to round out the 6x6 in my other league last year and it was much more fun.
Your relievers don't live and die by the save, which can be a total crapshoot. When Miller went to the Indians, he and Allen were still BOTH good players, instead of both being compromised.
Guys like Betances become valuable players.
The 7th and 8th innings have pitching action, instead of being dead spots.
I figure buy in should be $50-$100 based on what people want.
Open to either daily or weekly moves. I kind of think most people would prefer weekly, so it will be no more time consuming than Fantasy Football.

I might be interested, haven't played roto since i i started AP'ing full time but used to be a die hard. Much prefer roto to h2h, seems more skill driven.
Why not OPS instead of seperating OBP and slugging? I'd guess because wanted 6 categories to include holds? An option for 5x5 could also be OPS and make holds+saves one category. I love playing backseat chairman....lol.

I'm dont have a huge problem with that but i fear it might overvalue power guys a bit. I might be wrong though. I can look into it.
Also. I think an innings cap is needed. On in my main league is about 1550 think.

When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

Totally agree, necessary for roto. I think 1500 or even 1400 is good. I think most roto leagues I've played were 1300-1400. With 1300, even if you don't have holds the middle relievers can be very valuable, the quality of the innings matters more, easy to blow ratios by putting marginal starters in the lineup.
