Why dont i have a Casino Host?

This host says he gets paid 16% of Theo or 10% of actual loses:

theo on ~99.5% machines is pretty low.
no wonder I don't have a host, even tho I'm Diamond Aspirations lvl 1 (~$150k coin-in) for the 2nd straight year.
and I'm up for the year thanks to multiple Royals.
but what does it cost a host to have me on their list?

(that vp game was the only game I played that day)
and apparently a couple of 2500tc days isn't enough to get a host in AC.
she gave me the excuse that my dominant property is Baltimore and that my host will be from there.

so why do casinos calculate the theo different than HE?

A lot of reasons... I'll just give one. Sometimes there are different games on a machine and the casino "averages" these games for a machine Theo instead of a per game theo which will make some higher and some lower than the individual game HE's.
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

You don't have a host because you aren't worth anything to the Casino. The tier status comes automatically with coin in. When they run your numbers to see how much they make off of you,, you aren't worth giving free concerts and food offers to.

My question would be why do you care? With your type play they will be only looking closer at it and will offer nothing.

I have a guy from Flamingo who called me to let me know he was my host. I have completely ignored his call. This guy was my host at tropicana and when he was there I never really got very good offers.
The video poker at CET properties in Vegas is pretty crappy so I would much rather just book my free rooms online at one of their properties and gamble as little or as much as I want to. Now, I do have a host at Treasure Island who I feel has always been fair with me so I deal with her anytime I wish to stay there but it's not an ego thing.

It's not uncommon for an AP to avoid a hosts call depending on the situation, even though hosts are generally very disconnected from the people who's jobs it is to foil AP's. Sometimes the hosts are calling to invite you to a tournament or something good. Theo is theoretical loss. This is from the casino's POV. They know most players don't use proper strategy. Look at the blackjack tables and how many people stand on 16vT or 12v2 or 12v3. By playing improperly, the players are losing more than the HE says they should. The same applies to VP and other table games. No way in hell are most players playing 9/7/5 DB to a 0.89% HE.....most APs can't even play the game perfectly....no way are random casual gamblers going to be playing that game properly. You got people holding 6,6,K in VP, FFS.

Happened to an AP friend of mine counting cards. He got approached by a host, saying he'll give him free rooms, food, etc. etc. Meanwhile security and surveillance are approaching the table telling him to leave. My friend is like "WTF, am I on the TV show Punk'd with Ashton Kutcher?" Host is like nah all's good, this guy is a strong player he can play. Security is like no, he has to leave and not able to play here anymore.
Friend called the host on his next trip and got a few nights room plus food comped. There's a bit of a disconnect in that casino's departments...lol

This is the first time I've heard hosts are paid on % commission rather than a fixed salary.
Can we confirm the accuracy of this?

Believe its a mix of the two.
I had a host approach me a few years ago in Diamond Jims club at the Trop in AC. Gave me his card and the whole spiel. Back in NY, a friend of mine told me the guy was great, and to mention my friends name. I call one afternoon and he didn't seem like he wanted to be bothered. He asked me several times where I got his card and his private number. When I mentioned he was host to my friend Anthony, he perked up a bit. I got more than enough free stuff from mailings so I never bothered him again.

I noticed that Ceasar's AC advertises that they have specific Asian player hosts. Not sure if that means Asian games or Asian ethnicity.....

I can confirm some hosts are paid a percentage of theoretical loss.

Generally, an independent host will make commission only. A host working for a property will have a salary, but no commission. They can earn bonuses based on recruiting new players and reaching other job related goals.
